Layering

What are your thoughts or opinions about layering. I didn't know about this until a couple days ago that people layer up on scents to create a different concoction of a scent. I get trying something new, combining scents but for some people who have expensive frags, why do that? Okay there was one time my friend and I were walking around and found a frag booth/vendor and he sprayed versace eros energy and then stacked it with citizen jack jet black or ocean noir, one of those can't remember, it actually was very citrusy with a mixed aquatic note kinda good But then he trying different ones and wasn't pleasant, some smelled like a pepper bomb, too spicy, too earthy or just plan dirt. Yeah I get the gist of it but my opinion don't think it's worth it then you're just wasting you stuff.
