Hey
Hey y'all, I'm still here, was studying like crazy for the sgt exams, got hurt from a apartment fire which became a rescue for someone trapped inside which my partner and I rescued and remove the victim from the fire. Getting my health was top priority, smoke inhalation was no joke but def got my interest in smoke scented fragrances hahahah but feels great we got the elderly female out of the apartment. Shes okay and the department is commendating my partner and i for bravery and honorable mentioned for our selfless act and took our picture to show that no matter what, we'll go above and beyond to preserve life. However January and February were busy months, now March is gonna get me swamped because I got a interview with a unit within my department which specializes in counter-terrorism so excited for that. Anyway got some new frags and got rid of some for trades and got a plug for my fragrances. New frags is lattafa musamam black intense, rayhaan terra, the brand new not released yet ocean noir parfum by Michael malul, and let me just say it is better then the edp. Also grabbed Game of spades all-in and afnan 9pm night out. Will give my reviews shortly for it. Also what should I wear for the interview.
Hey
Fighting scent fatigue
Part of the reason I think many of us have larger collections is because we get bored and are constantly searching for the dopamine hit we get when finding something new. I rarely wear the same scent more than a few times. I’m trying to combat this by focusing on what I have and burning through my samples and decants. Over the past year I’ve expended just under 100 samples and decants. But I really have a hard time with the desire to wear something different all the time How do y’all combat this? What are some of your strategies to focus on what you have?

I'm in the same boat. Focus on the seasons and for me in my work field I wear for the duration of my shift and after wards wear one of my samples for the long drive home which helps burns through my samples and allows me to change it up and just wear something.
precinct holiday party
The holiday party was a huge success, great turn out. Of course I was the fashionably late one but you know what the say, last one is the best one and that night I felt I was the best, everyone said the outfit was amazing, looked my best, the weight loss definitely helped out a lot. And let me say all the women kept saying I was the greatest smelling man of the party, one quote was "Xavier, you can't smell this good cause imma take you home right now if you do" well that was the highlight of the night hahahahaha. This was def the holiday I really enjoyed. The scent of the night was Alghabra- Eyes of the Seven Hills. Classy, initmate, sophisticated gentlemen scent.

Gentlemans Nod Kensei
This is one of my favorite purchases at Scentxplore 2025. Kensei is a tea, citrus, woody fragrance, before i go any further, this is nothing like lv imagination in fact this is the father of imagination who works a blue collar job, works out in a dark lit room hearing nothing but his yells and panting and sound of metal plates banging and clacking and when going to attend formal events, he is the man everyone sees and goes to, this is a little bit tea heavy with great citrus from Yuzu, Blood Orange, Mandarin and crisp Pear. Now that opening first spray is aromatic, refreshing but like I said nothing like imagination. You will constantly smell your hand because everything is addictive. In the drydown, it sort of mellows in a way where the citrus starts to become soothing with amberwood and cedar, the greens, the tea, and florals notes, giving a sweet green citrus aroma almost like a very expensive high quality tea. Now I haven't tried it out to see longevity and projection but will def it try it out tonight at work during the night watch hours

It reallyDoes capture like how the fragrance predicts like a samurai. You know , bold noble honorable , stand out , you were basically the gentleman during that period of time in japan. And honestly I didn't realized my description of it being the father of imagination kinda describes the samurai.

So the longevity I was able to still smell it up until 0630 hours around that time, I applied it around 1050 pm so the longevity was there, sillage was there as well. Wind picked up in nyc last night and some of the officer were able to detect it.
Scent explore recap
Wow, scentxplore 2025 was a huge hit, venue was completely huge, more vendors came through as well as reviewers on social media. Met a lot of people as well going to the panels for xerjoff and memo paris and hearing the perfumers story on how they started. Getting samples and samples. Almost 4 full bags, buying my first city rhythm fragrance, Puerto Rico, and getting signed by perfumer Niles D Ramadhin himself. As well as a discovery set from amouroud parfums, getting pictures with lorenzo pazzaglia and trying his 3 new unreleased products, that's not in their collection yet, but I can tell you its gin and Tonic vibes, cherry, fruit vibe and a dark coffee vibe. What an amazing turn out. Pictures will be uploaded soon.
