Hey Gents! Wanted to bring something up that I see mentioned a lot in fragrance groups: performance. When a new fragrance drops, one thing I see CONSTANTLY is people blasting the performance. I find this frustrating because I don’t think people realize how fragrances are made these days. They are made and sold very quickly. Example: if Prada comes out with a new fragrance October 1st, they start producing bottles in July/August. The issue with that, is that there isn’t enough time for the scent to macerate and mature. Think about all the fragrances that you’ve bought and overtime you went “wow, this scent grew on me”. That’s typically because it finally matured. I buy a lot of new fragrances when they launch and it takes MONTHS for the scent to develop. Last year I got YSL Y Elixir right when it came out. It didn’t perform well at all, and all the reviews said the same thing. I checked my batch code and the bottle was produced 2 months before I bought it. Now, whenever I wear it, I’m told how strong it is! And, when you read reviews on it now, you’ll see the same.
Just food for thought. Curious your guys’ thoughts.
