Fragrance cost

As I’m still very new to the fragrance lifestyle one thing that is very odd to me is the price. Specifically the difference from a 1.7 to a 3.2 bottle. The price is only 30-40 more but the amount is more than double. So even though I probably only need the smaller amount because of wanting to wear many fragrances it’s not worth it to buy the smaller amount bottle. Why is this?
