Final practice for the day. Longest I’ve held the crow so far. Excited to look back on these posts and see where I started. Any tips are welcome!

Getting Back What I Thought I Lost...
For over 3 years, I’ve been working through a knee injury. It’s been one of the hardest challenges I’ve faced—not just physically, but mentally. When you’ve trained at a high level, it’s humbling to feel like you’re starting from zero again. Simple movements that used to feel natural suddenly feel rusty. You know what your body used to do… but right now it just won’t. That’s where the real mental battle comes in. Lately, though, I’ve been hitting milestones I honestly wasn’t sure I’d get back to. I’m finally able to do full range squats again without pain. I’ve started rebuilding my pistol squats, step by step. And for the first time in years, I’m feeling excited to get back into flips. It feels like I’m shaking the rust off and reconnecting with the athlete I know is still inside me. This is a reminder to myself—and hopefully to you too—that progress isn’t always linear. Some seasons feel like setbacks, but they don’t erase what’s possible. You’re never really starting from zero. You’re just rebuilding stronger. 👉 Have you ever come back from an injury or long break and felt “rusty”? How did you push through that stage?
