Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde – A Lesson for Every Man
I think we can learn a lot from stories and films—and one that’s always stuck with me is Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
Quick summary:
It’s about a well-respected man who secretly has an alter ego—someone darker, more chaotic.
Everyone thinks it’s a separate person, but it turns out it’s him.
He’s ashamed of that side, so he tries to kill it off… but in doing so, he ends up poisoning himself.
And this, to me, is exactly what it means to be a man.
We’ve all got two sides:
✅ One that’s strong, confident, well-liked—proud.
❌ And another that’s angry, impulsive, chaotic, and weak.
But in today’s world, we’re told we should only ever show the first side.
The problem?
That’s not real. And it’s exhausting to try and uphold all the time.
My belief?
We need to stop running from the chaos.
Stop denying the anger.
Own it. Control it. Channel it.
Because when we suppress the darker sides of ourselves, we also suppress our true potential.
I’m not saying go out and pick fights.
But I am saying this:
Your aggression, when used correctly, is power. It’s fuel.
And sometimes, it’s exactly what’s needed.
Embrace both sides. Integrate them. That’s where real strength lives.
