What started as a comment…
I started to fill this in as a comment on the Start Here: Day 1 reset post where people are sharing…and it turned into quite the pep talk that I needed to hear as I let myself type away freely…so instead have opted to share it here as a post instead. Hope it helps lift and lighten your mood too 💕

Ok so here’s the thing…I often feel uncomfortable in committing to this sort of thing (the reset commitment post)…I find it FAR easier not to…
Even if I want to stop scrolling and going to bed earlier, ‘committing’ to that feels quite the jump…as does picking what level to even opt for in this challenge 😬
Yet, in calling a spade a spade, I am aware that I have just been scrolling on my phone for way more than 5 minutes…if I were to guess when I started it would be about an hour and a half ago…so that’s closer to 90 minutes already…I remember thinking I would do a hard stop over an hour ago to get on with putting clean clothes away when a quiz I like on the radio was due to start…yet the time came and I stayed scrolling as the quiz played…
I am hoping sharing this at the very least counts as something…as part of me feels like not sharing this AT ALL either…yet that’s where the shame creeps in…everyone else is doing this…everyone else is committing to this…everyone else is putting the effort in…why can’t I? What’s wrong with me?
Yet I very much hope THIS is normal. It’s ok. There’s a lot I want to do so picking a starting lane naturally feels challenging.
Am going to put the kettle on, make a cup of tea and begin somewhere with the laundry, anywhere with it. It really doesn’t matter on what or where. Even if it’s just pairing the socks, clearing a clothes airer or getting the next load ready to go on. I know it will feel easier once I begin but I do so totally get and relate to how resistant taking that first step can sometimes feel.
Just wanted to share this here should anyone feel in a similar boat - not putting a dampener on anyone thriving in the reset challenge - just some reassurance and hope to anyone feeling hesitant to commit to it in the first place. I get it. Trust me. I really, really, really do.
So my advice to you…as am always keen for the advice rather than just the ‘I get it’ connotation…is start anywhere…I pick laundry as I think it’s a game changer and something am so passionate about I use it as the implementation piece to teach my Start Anywhere principles…but simply start…you can stop the scroll MID-WAY…you can run the bath to soak in NOW…you can put the honey away that’s on the dining table without feeling you have to clear the whole table in one go…if the WHOLE THING…feels too daunting, too overwhelming and far from inviting to even begin in the first place…simply start somewhere…anywhere.
A saying I use in my business a lot and something I stand by is a teabag in the bin is a win. You could have just left it on the kitchen counter after all. It could have stayed there all day. For hours. Just resting on a spoon. Resting on the side…So even if it made it into the (preferably food-waste..) bin, it quite literally is a win. Right? How could it not be? 🤩
So ANY tiny speck of progress you make on things…ANY tiny bit of improvement is a win. You are stacking wins-on-wins. Not failing. Not falling behind. Wins-on-wins baby 💞
