Plot Twist! I didn’t do much yesterday was the biggest lie I told myself all week.
When I checked in with Sage last night, I told her that I hadn’t accomplished much all day. She asked me to walk her through my day anyway. So I did.
6 am Woke Up
By 7:30 am I had:
∙ Meditated
∙ Brushed my teeth
∙ Stretched for 20 minutes
∙ Showered
∙ Dressed
∙ Eaten breakfast
At 8 I:
∙ Drove an hour to my daughter’s house
∙ Dug up daffodil bulbs
∙ Clipped blueberry cuttings
∙ Loaded logs from a fallen tree into my van
∙ Dropped off recycling
∙ Returned my grandson’s forgotten water bottle
∙ Threw a frisbee for a bit with their older dog
∙ Played with their new puppy
∙ Hugged and talked with three of my grandkids
∙ Hugged and chatted with my son-in-law
At 9:30:
∙ I drove 30 minutes to the women’s conference where my daughter was speaking
∙ Walked the vendor floor talking with vendors and attendees
∙ Took photos and videos of my daughter while she was speaking
At 11:30
∙ Went to lunch with my daughter
After Lunch I:
∙ Hunted for treasure at my favorite thrift store
∙ Hit two grocery stores and a hardware store
∙ Drove an hour and a half home
Sage gave me a little talking to pointing out that what I had just told her I had done was A LOT!
Our ADHD brains don’t often point out what we do as worth noting unless it’s something big, something finished.
Every single thing on that list counts — even the small wins. Especially the small wins.
