Hose pipe ban

In the UK we have just had our fourth heatwave and they have said if we have another one there will be a drought. People have been told we have a hose pipe ban but there are still many people watering their gardens using a hose pipe. I know my immediate neighbours have used their hose at least once a day to water their plants and my family don’t want me to report them. It is possible that they could be exempt as they are in their 70’s.

Tonight I went out walking the dogs and up the road in the dark there was another person watering their garden with a hose. I also know of at least one other house that is using their hose and they are definitely not exempt but they are acquaintances of ours, so I don’t know whether to report them. My husband says to mind my own business as we don’t need any notes from our immediate neighbours who I don’t speak to but they could make things difficult for us as they would know it was me, as they blame me for most things!
