Finished Day 5
It's almost hard to believe how nice it feels to finally finish something again. Even though it was short, only 5 days, I have things still open in my code-editors that probably are less than 5 days of work from being completed.
Reading my full report was so inspiring as well. Learning that a lot of my hesitance to get started on something or even just completely stoping something something is because of the fear of "getting it wrong" or "not doing it quick enough"... It gave me clarity I haven't had in a while. Especially the energy portion of the video, where it talked about if you can feel yourself adverse to what you're imagining, can feel the energy being sucked out of you (even if it's just a bit).
I always just told myself that you basically had to just power through things you didn't like because I was raised with the motto "sometimes you just have to do things you don't like". That sometimes slowly was changed into "all the time" somehow. I began living my life in this shadow of other corporations and jobs because I was too scared to make a career out of what I loved and what I could do.
With my beliefs changing about who I am and what I am capable of, I am slowly realising that I don't have to work for companies that contradict my morals just because I am good at software development.
This post is kind of all over the place from my learnings over this challenge, but that's usually how my brain works anyways. I just want to say a big thank you to Jim for crafting this challenge, another thank you to the community (as little as I did connect with), and that I'm looking forward to attending the live Day 6 from NZ!
