5 Day vs Operating Manual

Hey everyone... new to the community and loving everything I'm getting from the content and contributions.

I am looking forward to the 5 day challenge at end of month. I am wondering what the difference between that and the operating manual is? Are they both needed? Do they compliment each other? Is the manual just to get started before the 5 day but the content actually overlaps?
