When I dance, I break free…
Wanted to share this text by Gabrielle Roth (founder of the 5Rhymts), I made this photo yesterday during my 5Rhytms dance session. Our teacher had this hanging under her dj set. I relate to every word of it and it is magical. Together with YogaNidra, this dancing (with a group) has been my source of transformation and healing. And it is becoming more and more ecstatic 🤩 When I dance, I break free. I make up my own steps, Let the beat all the way into my soul. I ride on the waves of the music like a surfer. I bump against parts of myself, Go between, around, strecht what I know. I go where I have never been. Through dance I’ve journeyed Through my body Into my heart Past my mind Into another dimension of existence, A dimension I call ectasy, Total communion with spirit. 🙏🙏🙏

@Vala Thorvaldsd In the dialect of the k’s - now do you kultivate your graphikal musikal kontent?

@Vala Thorvaldsd I’m sort of addicted to flow states. So to the extent that cultivation is an act of doing, for me, creativity is more a sort of a blank slate. I don't spend much time or effort with an end goal in mind. It's like building something out of Legos - I just keep putting one piece after another together, and if it doesn't fit, I move it somewhere else. Or try a different combination. But it is always micro steps. My favorite part of the creative process is when a number of these micro steps come together in a way where I go, "Oh that's cool!"
Mid-Week Pause | The Courage to Be Grateful
This past weekend was a reminder that gratitude can also be vulnerable. In echo of Cat's share: Be Courageous. Each time we pause to appreciate what is already present, we open our hearts and space for something new to emerge. Let's continue to pause for gratitude! SHARE below what you are grateful for today! I'll begin... I am grateful for all of those who are sharing their voice in this community... When I see you being vulnerable and sharing your questions, creating bids for connection, and supporting those who share with a like or comment, it shows me... Although we can be a 'sleepy' community in nature, we don't push 'snooze' on connection. For those silent observers here, I encourage you to SHARE your moment of gratitude on this post! You deserve to be seen. Let's support each other!

question
I've been wondering about remaining in the seat of the witness vs just like being the sensation?

@Cat Jones I suppose there are a number of ways that one could learn to become “one with the sensation”. Two key skills are depersonalization and having a deep sense of presence or awareness. At a fundamental level I don’t think these two skills are necessarily different. If you have a truly deep sense of presence, then I think that necessarily implies a certain level of success with respect to depersonalization, and vice versa. Regardless, without these skills, trying to become one with the sensation is a bit like setting out to climb Mount Everest without ever having climbed a mountain before. It’s probably not going to be successful. And I think mastering the seat of the observer is an excellent way to develop these skills. And without nitpicking the language, I would note that to express it as “becoming one with the sensation” brings a bit of baggage with it. From what I understand of the philosophy, it might be more accurate to say that it is not a becoming, it is a realization of things as they already are. And finally, the goal of becoming one with the sensation, is at best another step on the path, and at worst a distraction. As a therapeutic intervention to deal with trauma or pain, it’s very effective, but, it’s not the end game. I would articulate the end game, if we are going to talk about this as a becoming, as becoming one with awareness, or better yet, realizing that we are one with awareness, and always have been… We just forgot. . Thank you so much for the question, it helps me clarify. ❤️🙏

The Restorative Power of Gratitude
As the week comes to a close, it’s easy to remember the things we didn’t finish, the moments that felt heavy or the places we wish we had shown up differently. But gratitude has a way of softening those edges. It doesn’t erase what was difficult, but it shifts the way we hold it. In Yoga Nidra, even a simple reflection on one thing we’re grateful for can calm the nervous system and invite a state of rest. Gratitude opens the door to presence. Take a moment to pause. Breathe. And let one memory, one small thing you’re thankful for this week, rise to the surface. What is it for you? SHARE it below. Your gratitude might spark someone else’s. Remember to SIGN UP to the Virtual Gratitude Experience! ✧ Sept 21, 2025 | 10AM PT | Virtual ✧ 90 min online gathering ✧ Invite only (You have to Sign Up!) ✧ meaningful connection, reflection, and, of course, gratitude. ✧ mission: leaving people better than we find them.

—Quiescence knows no Patience—

But here's the thing... Quiescence knows no patience. It simply is, tikkin' au naturel ✨️ I figure when you simply are, everything just is. Being doesn't wait —being happens now— Take nuts and seeds: they aren't waiting to sprout, longing for spring; they pulse potential until moisture, light & signals unlock their intricate code. They aren't enduring dormancy; they ARE dormancy —esse dormientium—being asleep. Now I'm going a lil' nuts myself. I'm done being patient, done waiting to sprout. I am sentient seed of potent me. I am the conditions that lead to growth; I am pondbottom. I am light refracting in water. I am water. I am all without which not, sine qua non.
