Zonulin → Gut Barrier, Inflammation, and Weight Gain
High levels of Zonulin leads to- Leaky Gut & Inflammation - Elevated zonulin = looser gut barrier. - Toxins, food antigens, and bacteria leak into the bloodstream → immune system stays on high alert. - Chronic low-grade inflammation is directly tied to insulin resistance, fat storage, and slowed metabolism. - direct lead in to Auto Immune Dis-eases. Fluid Retention / Puffiness - - Inflammation increases capillary leakiness and signals the body to retain water. - You see this as puffiness in the face, belly, hands, or ankles. Cravings & Appetite- - Dysregulated gut permeability can alter gut hormones (ghrelin, leptin), driving overeating. - The microbiome also shifts toward calorie-harvesting bacteria when zonulin is high. Truth- Protein quality varies-some sources offer more usable amino acids than others. WHY This Myth is Wrong- Animal-based proteins are typically complete (all 9 essential amino acids). Taking back control of my health
Hi this is Susan and I am 57 years old. I live in Sydney Australia and am looking forward to getting back to my old self with the help of Petra’s program. Due to illness in the past I put my health goals on hold which just made things worse and I also struggle with sugar addiction. I am so glad to be here be and be a part of this amazing group of people😊

@Rheece Hartte a couple of years but I’m slowly getting a bit better at working through the craving rather than just grabbing something unhealthy as soon as a craving comes on. This then creates a sugar binge due to rise in high insulin

Today I want to celebrate Maria, one of the amazing women in our FitnHealthy Forever program. When Maria began her journey, she was determined to make changes not only for herself but also for her family. And look what has happened… ❤️ She’s been walking and moving her body more, finding peace and strength in the process. ❤️ Her 15-year-old son is watching her example and learning what true health looks like at home. ❤️ Her husband also started eating her healthy cooking, he went from 345 pounds and is now down to 313 4 weeks later ❤️ Her commitment has even inspired her longtime friend to take action on her own health. Maria’s journey is proof that when one woman makes the decision to change, the ripple effects touch her family, her friends, and her community. Maria, I am so proud of you. You are showing everyone around you what REAL health looks like. If you’re a woman over 40, and reading this feeling stuck, I want you to know you don’t have to do this alone. With love 🙏 Michale ❤️
