@Aleiah Kennedy that’s what I always say. I went to a chiropractor one time and they had two of them and he said it burned calories like a workout. I thought he was feeding a load of crap.

Metabolism • Building Muscle
One of the primary reasons you need to focus on building lean muscle tissue is that your muscle is your metabolism. 💯 It’s actually more complicated than that, but it’s accurate enough for the sake of remembering WHY you need to build muscle. In fact, studies show that muscle mass is the main factor in basal metabolic rate. This means that if you want your metabolism working FOR you, building lean muscle tissue is non-negotiable. Your muscle requires more calories than fat to be maintained. This means that the more muscle you have, the better your metabolism will work for you. Also, did you know your metabolism will continue to work long after a good strength training session? That’s right! After you lift heavy, your metabolism will continue doing its job for 24-48 hours after you’ve finished a workout! That’s one reason why I encourage you to push hard on lower body days—because your lower body contains some of the largest muscles, and when you strength train them, your body (metabolism) will continue to burn fat long after it’s over! 🔥 Did You Know? 👇 Some studies suggest that for every pound of muscle, your body is able to burn around six calories per day. This means if you gain 10 lbs. of muscle, you can burn around 60 extra calories per day. That’s 420 extra calories per week and 21,840 calories per year. This means you could lose an extra 6 lbs. of fat per year just by strength training. Not only that, but you will change your body composition, which is a huge part of the overall equation! 🔥 TAKING ACTION: ✅ How important is building muscle for you? Did you understand how important it is before joining this group?!

@Aleiah Kennedy yessss!
Eating More + NEAT.
Metabolism really isn’t that complicated, friends. There are things you can control—like diet, exercise, and sleep hygiene. As we’ve mentioned, there are also variables we can’t control—like age, sometimes genetics, and certain health conditions. I can’t be sure, but it seems that if we want to make the most out of our metabolic health, we should focus on the things we CAN control, like diet and exercise. 👌 Speaking of, let’s look more closely at diet and exercise. Friends, you can’t be afraid to eat more if you want to optimize your metabolic health. Your metabolism requires food for energy. If it doesn’t have energy, it can’t do its job. 💯 Also, you already know that building muscle plays a huge role when it comes to your metabolic health, but the truth is that ALL movement matters. Your body burns the most amount of calories throughout the day; therefore, focusing on moving throughout the day should be top priority. You can do this by getting in more NEAT movement (non-exercise activity thermogenesis). For the sake of time, I won’t go into NEAT, but feel free to read about it today if time permits! Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis Is NEAT! 👉The moral of the story? When it comes to metabolic health, food and movement are your best friends! 🔥 TAKING ACTION: ✅ What is your nutritional plan looking like this month? Are you focusing on maintaining and firing up your metabolism?
