Top tips for immune support 🦠
Hi dears! I started getting a cold on Saturday & was in bed with a fever yesterday. But today I'm 90% back on track & therefore I want to share some of the things I did to recover so quickly.... NOTE - I didn't feel stressed out by implementing these things cause they're already part of my lifestyle. Plus we're all soo individual, which affects how quickly your immune response activates when under attack. So start where you're at and do what you can without feeling pressure to "follow this list perfectly" as the added stress will only suppress your immunity even more. 1. REST - Your body will only recover if it feels SAFE enough to do so. I cancelled my social plans, got +9 hrs of sleep, Netflixed & removed all expectations on myself to “get sh*t done” 2. Drink BONE BROTH - I make my own in a pressure cooker with leftover chicken bones & skin (break them open to access the nutritious bone marrow), alternatively purchase pre-made 3. BOOST your meals with nutrient-dense & anti-inflammatory ingredients like ginger, garlic, turmeric, lots of veg, fruit, berries, protein, healthy fats & complex carbs 4. Power up your meals with CHAGA & BEE POLLEN - Both can modulate the immune system, are extremely antioxidant-rich (protecting immune cells against oxidative stress) & may have antiviral & antibacterial properties - I buy mine from @svenskhalsokost - they currently have a 20% discount in their online shop 5. DRINK heaps of water + hot water with lemon, ginger & raw, unpasteurised honey + nettle/tulsi/rosehip teas 6. STIMULATE your lymph flow using the 10 min self-massage session on Day 26 &/or using very light pressure from a massage gun (OBS do not use near your neck/upper collarbone) 7. For an added boost, SUPPLEMENT with vitamin C, vitamin D, minerals, quercetin, zinc, probiotics, selenium, adaptogenic mushrooms, omega 3, amino acids, CoQ10, immunoglobulins - see cheat sheets under Bonus content to choose high quality omega 3/probiotics/magnesium 8. When you feel good enough to get out of bed, take SHORT WALKS in between lying down, or do some gentle YOGA/SELF MASSAGE to stimulate blood & lymph flow 9. SKIP CAFFEINE until you feel recovered - being ill already elevates your cortisol
