Day 1 No Complaints
…..I complained šŸ˜‚ Both of us did! We noticed how absolutely exhausted we felt afterwards though. It will wear you slap out to complain! We also noticed how negatively it affected our mood and how long it took to come back from that bad mood. Today is long from over for me because I’m doing prep work: I’m happily snapping green beans for church dinner tomorrow😃 Tomorrow is another day though and another opportunity to grow from what we’ve learned today. I saw very quickly self discipline will be key for success in this challenge. How did y’all do?

I definitely complained yesterday, BUT! I did catch myself mid complaint and told myself to stop! So at least I was mindful of it?! It'll get better!
7 Day No Complaint Challenge
Husband and I are committed to 7 days (starting today) of ZERO complaining! We eventually want to get to where complaints are very few and far between. We’re both fervently searching for peace, so we are taking action to find it. Does anyone want to join and we can share how it goes each day here on the platform?

What’s your goal this season?
TAKING ACTION: āœ… Share your one main goal this season so I can help support you along the way! Here’s the truth—you don’t have to have weight loss or fat loss goals during this season. šŸ’Æ Your goals are unique to YOU, but I proclaim that maintenance is a great goal during the holidays. Maintaining your current strength, stats, and measurements is a win during the holidays and allows you to enjoy a few more bites of chicken+dressing and peanut butter pie. šŸ˜‰ I can’t tell you what your goals should be, and I am here to support you as you navigate the next couple of months; however, I know it’s not healthy or sustainable to be in fat-loss mode year-round. The holiday season is a great time to practice maintaining your results. I’ll make a deal with you. I’ll give you my best and you give me yours. We’re in this together! šŸ¤

I plan to keep making better food choices but also to get rid of clutter so my mind will feel lighter and to keep walking even as it gets colder out. I'm cramped up in the house all day working and I need to keep getting out into the fresh air and sunshine.

ā€œThe Dunkin' Donuts slogan, 'America runs on Dunkin', scares the heck out of me. The suggestion that a country prides itself on being 'nourished' on donuts and lattĆ©s is rather curious.ā€ ― A. Breeze Harper After reading this quote, I can’t help but agree with it. The reality is that, generally speaking, Western society lives with this attitude—even if we don’t realize it. Because we live in a quick, grab-n-go world these days, many of us are addicted to sugar and highly processed foods. We don’t think twice about slogans like ā€œAmerica runs on Dunkinā€™ā€ because we’re unaware of how deep the sugar/processed food issue really is. Last week, I promised to continue educating you this month on the topic of sugar, how too much of it is detrimental to your goals and health, and tips on how to reduce it in your everyday diet. Again, slowly taking steps to reduce processed sugars from your diet will help you crush our sugar elimination challenge that’s coming up soon! Knowledge is power, which is why it’s our first step—and action is powerful, so we’re going to do that, too! šŸ™Œ I encourage you to show up this week, friends, as we prepare for one of our most impactful challenges we do all year long! Reducing your sugar intake can and will change the game when it comes to reaching your goals and supporting your overall health. šŸ’Æ Check out these beverage ideas to use over the next couple of weeks ā¬‡ļø: šŸ“ Fruit Infused Water Recipe: Fruit Infused Water - Simple Vegan Blog 🌱 Need carbonation? To eat or not to eat? šŸ¬
Halloween is approaching in less than three weeks, but the reality is that those sweet candy temptations begin long before the actual holiday—and they typically extend well past the holiday. First, it’s candy lining the grocery aisles, and afterward, it’s the leftover sweet treats in your bucket. šŸ There are at least two truths here: šŸ‘‰You don’t have to forgo all of the sweet treats to reach your goals during this season šŸ‘‰But you do have to practice discipline It’s no secret that discipline is key when it comes to consuming super palatable foods, and in most cases, anything high in sugar. That’s because sugar doesn’t just make your taste buds happy—it makes your brain happy. But (there’s always a but), a good sugar high is always temporary, and too many of them will hinder you from reaching your goals. Tomorrow, we’re going to talk about the question: Should I eat the candy or not? Remember, we have our Sugar Detox Challenge coming up, so it’s wise to consume responsibly! šŸ˜‰ I will share better swaps in the comments!! TAKING ACTION: āœ… Before we talk about it tomorrow, tell me what you think is personally best—to eat the candy or not? Why or why not is this the best choice for you?

I'm better off skipping the candy. The more I stay away from it, the less I want it.
