Mango Wodzak passes
Dr Doug.. what do you think of Mango Wozaks passing away being a fruitarian all those decades of clogged arteries at 64 years old. I just can't wrap my head around it and I can't understand it.

Foodnsport 801010 forum
Hey Lately I tried to access the original 801010 forum on foodnsport.com, and it seems like it’s off. Any idea if it is permenantly off or just under construction? I’m really hoping it will be accesible again, it was such a wealth of information.

Chirimoya season !
As I was voraciously going through a mono meal of luscious chirimoyas, I felt an urge to share it ! We're having here in Europe an amazing chirimoya season, the very best in many years, from the tropical coast of Spain. Dry weather gave great figs, and a way too short mango season, but unexpectedly, nature has it's ways, incredible chirimoyas. I must say it's an important part of my diet, when the bi-annual season comes (september/october + april/may). I live in France and we are lucky to import this fruit more and more. Chirimoya production is going up every year, as more and more trees are planted, and farmers are keen to diversify from the predominant avocado culture. I visited the place last year, and I found it a great example of the virtuous circle of fruit consumption : as the demand rises, offer is adapting, and trees are planted. The cost was only producing sugar cane, grapes and pears 60 years ago, and now, almost all the mountains are planted with tropical trees (papayas, bananas, chirimoyas and many more), thanks to pioneers farmers. True not everything is perfect, as there's too much mono-culture with lined up trees, and farmers are very dependent upon water dripping irrigation, but hopefully the trees may bring their own water, reducing the threatening dryness of the area. At least it gives some hope, as grain fields and cattle will inevitably and without a doubt be followed by desert. On the photo you can see two variety, almost identical in taste : "campas" with the little dots, and "fino de Jete" with the smooth skin. All of them are really creamy this year. I guess I'm really enthusiastic about this fruit, and it's history in Europe, as a great example of what could be possible if more people go to a fruit based diet. I hope you're also having great fruit season wherever you are !!

Tune ups are good
Did what was likely my final tune up for my competition this coming weekend. Squats were easy, and bench was work, but everything went as planned. Let's hope they do so on the day. The point? Even today's gentle workout still counts, and is way better than doing nothing. If you don't have time to do a lot, do a little. Putting yourself through your paces is valuable effort well spent. Find a bit of time today to exert a bit, then tell us what you did.
