Where are you in the World?
Hello :) I am originally from Bulgaria - this is my home town - Vratsa - west-north Bulgaria. The picture is from there. Now I am in Malaysia :) Greetings from Klang, around 40 min drive from Kuala Lumpur :) What about you? Is anyone planning a trip to Malaysia or Bali in near future :)))

@Denis Adigüzel canaries are not the best place unfortunately ! Andalousia is better but it gets a little chill in winter and even cold in the mountains. The fruit is great there. I’d say you should look into Central America for a fruity retirement !

@Doug Graham and the fruit season is just starting there…
Water ?!
I'm a bit puzzled about the statements of some low fat raw vegans (no names here !) regarding the consumption of water : 1 Very few don't consume any water 2 Some trust their thirst and drink when needed 3 Others state that we need water until our gut gets cleaned out of its "dry waste matter", and then the need wanes. 4 Others advocate for a gallon of water a day, as a bare minimum when we eat raw, going up to 2 gallons if we eat cooked food. I lend in the 2nd category, as I tend to drink > 2L during summer and hot days, and about 1L in the cold month of winter. I do urinate about 10 times a day, clean and good amounts, so I guess I should consider myself hydrated ? Is it true that the more we go into the lifestyle, the better hydrated will our body be, and our external water need lessen ? How can it be that we'd need a GALLON a day ? Do our digestive track need that much to work properly ? What would be adverse effects of drinking too much water ? Should we bypass thirst and drink more than what it tells us ? And lastly, what is your personal experience with water consumption ?

@Trayce Pjirrou Plus celery is one of the bad ones in terms of fertilizers and chemicals...

@Trayce Pjirrou Man you were 31 years into raw veganism at the time I wrote that post. I can't believe two years have already passed... I went to the tropics for the first time this year. I could not imagine not having water, as I was sweating a lot anytime I'd go for a hike. Any intake of durian was especially followed by a lot of water in the next hours. Maybe one day I'll feel that I don't need water. Drinking water definitely don't have the same effect as "eating" water.
Greens
Hey everybody, I have a question about greens. Do you sometimes only have cucumber/zucchini or other type of vegetables? I am used to have some sort of green everyday like lettuce, arugula, spinach etc but tonight, I am only having zucchini noodles and broccoli with some tomatoes, celery and hemp seed sauce and I don’t feel to have a salad aside. Is it important to have leafy greens everyday? Or does cucumber, zucchini, celery and other vegetables count too? Enjoy!

I think it definitely counts. As I've understood, all the kitchen vegetables (hence the cucumbers, tomato, zucchinis, squashes etc...) count as "greens". It is a bit counter intuitive. I eat proper leaves maybe 4 days a week, the others I just have cucumbers/celery in general.
Fruit Storage
Dear 80/10/10 Community, I have been following this diet since 1,5 years and it’s going great. One topic I have yet not been able to solve intelligently, is fruit storage. How do you store large quantities of fruit, like 100-120kg of bananas, keeping in mind the following aspects: 1. Easy Maintenance: The storage system must allow for simple and thorough cleaning to ensure hygiene. 2. Gentle Handling: Fruits should not be stacked excessively to avoid bruising or damage, requiring ample surface area. 3. Pest Prevention: The solution must effectively deter insects such as ants and fruit flies. In my research, I’ve encountered two approaches: - Industrial-scale systems e.g., climate-controlled ripening rooms, which are oversized, costly, and unnecessary for my needs, as I do not require accelerated ripening. - Household Solutions e.g., sealed plastic bags or small baskets, which lack airflow or sufficient capacity for bulk storage. The only idea I have been able to come up with is: A customizable stainless steel shelving unit designed as follows: - Adjustable Shelves: Each shelf spaced at 30 cm in height to accommodate a single layer of bananas or similar fruits, eliminating stacking. - Pull-Out Trays: Stainless steel trays mounted on sliding rails for easy access to front and back portions of the shelf. Not being perforated and being removable making it easier to clean. - Mesh Enclosure: The entire unit enclosed in stainless steel mesh (1–2 mm aperture) to block pests, with a front mesh door for accessibility. While this design addresses airflow, hygiene (stainless steel is easy to clean), and pest control, I would prefer to avoid custom fabrication. Please share how you store your fruit 🙏

You wanna maintain a 100kg banana rotation all the time ? Bananas don't ripen so well in a case, so the shelves are a good idea. The best in my opinion is to hang them (I used to do it for a 10-15kg banana permanent stash, using little metal hooks on a wooden shelve). 30 cm is a good spacing. Make sure to lie the bananas down properly so they don't damage themselves when ripe. It's a very good idea to have sliding shelves, as moving around bananas often bruise them ; better to move the support. The two solutions you are talking about are not manageable : a sealed bag is only gonna speed the ripening one day, and might end up in molding. With air flow the taste is better. You'll have to figure out the temperature and humidity : typically the higher the hotter in a room, and the closer to the heating system the drier. Bananas don't like it dry ! For temperature below 18°C bananas don't ripen so well. Above 28°C they ripen too fast.
Dental Care Question
I'm going to be starting to brush my teeth once before bed time which for me is around 7am (3rd shifter here on 12 hour shifts at work) and once in the afternoon after my gym workout or if it is an off day before my day starts in the afternoon. So I'm going to start brushing twice because I've noticed some of my teeth near gum line are starting to look like they may need fillings soon. I'm starting to think that leaving the fruit sugars on my teeth for damn near 24 hours before I brush again isn't a good strategy. What does anybody think about this? How often do you brush your teeth? I also use flouride free toothpaste Tom's of Maine and Tom's of Maine Mouthwash too I think they are some of the least toxic harmful brands out there. What toothpaste and mouthwash do you use?

I brush once before bed, with flossing. From my first meal to the brushing it’s usually 10 hours, so that’s perfectly fine for me ! Did you say 7am ? Or 7pm ? I use a simple Fluor free toothpaste, with a mild taste. Can’t see why Fluor would be necessary.
