Where is that printed? As far as I know, I'm still a "maybe" for Welsh FF.
Balancing a high-fruit lifestyle with environmental concerns – seeking your experience!
Hi everyone, I’m currently navigating some pushback from family regarding my 80/10/10 lifestyle. The main concern raised is the environmental impact of shipping tropical fruits into the UK, specifically the carbon footprint compared to eating locally grown, cooked foods. I’m committed to this path, but I also want to be mindful of my environmental footprint. I’ve started exploring ways to source more fruit locally, focusing on UK-grown staples like apples and pears to bridge that gap. I know many of you have faced similar scepticism from friends or family. How do you handle these conversations? Do you have any tips for staying true to the diet while also addressing valid concerns about sustainability? [ @Doug Graham] – I’ve seen your previous posts about the social dynamics of this lifestyle and would love to hear your perspective on navigating these family "friction points" with grace. Looking forward to hearing how you’ve all managed these situations!' P.S. from my memory in Doug's health book - he had quotes, probably more than 1 saying writing about environmental reasons to follow a raw diet , and how to handle people against it, could readers (you )please help me find these quotes in the comments?

@Timothy David Sounds like a discussion worth having.
Bathroom uses
I now get up to use the bathroom to pee 1-2 times a night, rarer 3 times. How long will this continue or is it a common, forever practice on 801010? I’ve been eating clean, organic, nothing processed, vegan for almost 30 years. GF and no flour products for 14 years. High or 100% raw for 14 years. High fruit and large salads for many years. What is new to me is committing to the 801010, low fat, removing the occasional cooked beans and all the nuts and seeds, chia, hemp, etc, I used to have. So, it’s not like I’m super toxed up. Any light you can share on how long this new bathroom habit will persist?

How many times are you up in the night, Timothy?

Janie, Several strategies each may prove somewhat useful. 1. Eat your last meal of the day somewhat earlier. 2. Have your fruit an hour or even more before your final veggie meal. 3. Take a walk after dinner, or be active in some other way. 4. Consume little or no water during the afternoon hours, so you go into dinner somewhat dehydrated. 5. Keep me posted on your progress.
Water intake and urinating frequency
Hi Doug, i just listened to the 6 pillars of health video on the masterclass series. I have a question about water intake and recommended amount of times a person should urinate in a day. The natural hygienist recommend drinking at least a gallon of distilled water per day, so after doing 80-10-10 without much additional water (following your example and guidance) for 10.5 months, i decided to experiment with the 1 gallon/day of distilled water approach as of the last 2 weeks (partially to see if it would make a difference with the hypoglycemic events). Obviously, though, one urinates much more frequently than 15 times/day. In this context, is it still too often? Or is the 15 times/day only relevant to those not drinking much supplemental water? I guess another way to ask this question would be am I leaching minerals if I urinate more than 15 x/day on a high water diet and high water intake lifestyle? Another question could be: should I urinate less than 15 times/day even with increased water intake? And finally, is it BAD (or any strong reasons why) I shouldn't be drinking that much? I think i feel overall better doing this, but not sure yet on impact on the hypoglycemic events.

Hydration is important. Proper hydration falls into a range. Too little water results in issues of hypohydration, as does too much water result in hyperhydration. For most people, simply tracking urinary frequency is more than enough. While 8-12x/24 hour day is my recommended range, 9-10 seems the most comfortable for most people.

@Nellie Nadeau Shelton did do some periods of all raw. He included cooked, and I believe, also included various dairy products. The very idea of veganism was unknown until very late in Shelton's life.
How much does it help to do 1 1/2 day water fasts? (short water fast, technically not intermittent fasting, but also - not having effect where feel have less energy either )
QUICK it was on my attention to recap - basically I by mistake was given a holiday on the day about 28th, in about 1 week, after my last 1 1/2 day water fast was 2 weeks ago. So makes sense to use this time to do another 1/2 day water fast. How much does it help to do 1 1/2 day water fasts? (short water fast, technically not intermittent fasting, but also - not having effect where feel have less energy either ). I need to weight if its worth myself strive just copy ted car do it every 30 days, or could be better every 2 weeks with my autoimmune disease. What are your thoughts? thanks for reading. ' @Richard Gambino and @Doug Graham interested

First, is there some reason for said fast? Fasting for no reason at all makes no sense to me.

Animals DO NOT fast on a schedule. Yes, annually, some animals fast, and yes, when in pain or ill they fast. Arbitrary fasts, such as every week, fortnight, or month? No, never. More energy? I eat for fuel and sleep for energy. My intention is keeping health practices simple and easy. I know, from a relatively newbie perspective, fasting regularly might make sense. What makes the most sense to me is living my life in such a healthful fashion that fasting is never required, unless I'm in great pain, or ill, or in some other way feel far from my usual healthy self. Does this help?
