About Last Night
Wasn't going to say anything about last night's event, but actually I'm pretty proud of how I showed up, and it factors heavily into the theme in this group of role models. DA/DV is a hard subject to engage people on, I'm of the opinion I don't owe anyone my experiences with it & also I've seen audiences disengage out of discomfort. I chose to speak about my observations & growth as a survivor rather than my time as a victim with candour & inadvertent inappropriate humour (some of those who follow me on insta will have seen one of my absolute corkers 🤦🏼‍♀️😂) The song linked below describes my ex husband to a tee and I referenced it heavily. I commented partially in jest on one of @Jamie Bigg posts this week that I'm my family's generational wealth, but I'm actually more like Gandalf screaming "you shall not pass!" at generational trauma because I realised my ex wasn't the only man in my life it describes perfectly...this was a generational issue. My Father set the benchmark for my brother as a man & to which I held other men, and it was a bullshit macho strawman. Listing the things he's afraid of was genuinely empowering...starting with frogs and ending with "speaking to a fucking therapist." Afterwards someone asked me "how bad was it?" And all I could think to say was that even now my automatic response to being badly hurt is to laugh. Either they get it or they don't...I hope they don't. The good, the bad, and the ugly
Little update... Firstly thank you so much to everyone who's checked in and asked how I'm doing. You folks are awesome and I'm so sorry you only got me at about 40% yesterday 💜 Secondly I have some tearing to my MCL and a bad strain to my quadricep tendon. There were concerns about a potential kneecap fracture but the x-ray says we are all good, and mobility/pain levels would certainly back that up. The bruising has come all the way out now and she ain't pretty. (Happy to drop a pic in comments in case anyone is squeamish 😅😂) While I'll gladly take the L on being the dickhead that runs towards the bang, I want to be absolutely clear this injury happened assisting with an accident on the way up the day before the open day with Jamie & co. They did a phenomenal job of catering to a huge range of experience and confidence levels. The choice to still train was mine and I made adjustments as necessary. Lastly, saved the best for last, I couldn't find out much as I'm not family but I have established that everyone made it to the hospital and as of this morning are all still alive...honestly that was unexpected. The human body is an incredible thing. 🙏🏼 Homemade bread is also incredible...and much prettier than my knee. 😂

Sorry to hear you have an injury. Listen to your body, with the correct rest/recovery and nutrition you will be back before you know it. You are awesome love yourself.X

I want to wish everyone the best of luck who is going to the big event today. What an awesome experience you will have. Learn from the best and to have the opportunity to be best version of yourself. Hope they will be more as I couldn’t make it today. Have a great weekend everyone!! Keep smashing it. X

Sorry for the lack of response over the weekend, busy working and then Mothers Day. Which the kiddies spoilt me, I am very lucky lady. New week new goals, getting in the right mindset. We’ve got this!!

Not much time for me today, but that’s okay. Sometimes it goes like that. My aim today was to tick some jobs off my list and i managed 5. Squeezed in a 3mile walk this evening, and done 23500 steps in total through out the day. I will take that. Alarm set for tomorrow, a new day, new goals, go smash it everyone. 😊
