Fit review
64 yr old road cyclist looking for review of position on bike. Slight back and saddle discomfort after 3+ hour rides on trainer. I also get neck and shoulder pain, but only sometimes?

I think your position looks pretty good side on. Slight side ways rocking but its not clear on potential cause at this angle. How are these pains and annoyances outside? Totally normal to experience discomfort on a static trainer after a couple of hours if you’re using same set up for outdoors, you don’t move around the same way as you would in the real world.
🎥 First Bike Fit Academy Webinar ✅ - thank you!
Brilliant to see so many of you join the first Bike Fit Academy webinar 🙌 Really appreciate the engagement, questions, and follow-up conversations. The goal of this session was to zoom out and look at why bike fit problems keep coming back, and why random tweaks rarely fix them, and the discussion afterwards shows just how relevant that is. If you’ve watched it: - What was your biggest takeaway? - Did anything shift how you think about your own fit? - What else would you like us to dive into? The recording will be available from tomorrow morning for a limited time, before moving into the Bike Fit Academy webinar library, so catch it while it’s there. Thanks again for being part of this - this is exactly the energy and thinking we hoped to create here 🚴‍♂️

Genuinely glad to experience this type of content and discussion. Biggest take-away (actually 2) was the methodology used by fitters and second how this webinar further reinforced why only comment sections just don't work. No significant shift in how I think about my own fit, actually the session reinforced my long standing belief that regular fits are a good thing. This is driven by comments around fit being an ongoing process as a result of changes made, adaptation period and how the body changes over time. Dive into Feet. A lot of bike fit discussion is focussed on saddle height, position and type. Too many people overlook the shoes they're wearing, pedal system used, cleat position etc. Look forward to the next and future sessions👍
Do I need new cleats?
New shoes with new cleats fitted by Dan in July. From my ride yesterday I’ve now got significant rubbing on both crank arms. I’ve attached videos to show how much internal rotation there is and a photo of the cleats. Thanks in advance for your help.

@Luke Bell not used Look cleats for a long long time, these don't look too bad unless I'm missing something obvious. seems strange that both sides have gone at the same time whether it's the cleats or the pedals. Not sure if it's just the video but you don't seem to have 'float' outward and the internal looks greater than 4.5 degrees. are the pedal bearings alright?

@Luke Bell if you fancy trying Shimano pedals I’ll happily send you some with new cleats. By no means the latest and greatest as they’re used but still full working order Ultegra level. Kept a few sets since moving to Speedplay. If happy to cover postage, test, see how you get on
I'm not sitting properly on the bike.
Good evening. I have a Trek road bike domane aluminum frame size 56. I am 1.81 cm tall. I wear handlebar extension 100°. I am facing a problem, I have tense arms and my shoulders are shaking and my hands are numb. I have tried everything to turn the handlebars down or up. to raise or lower the handles. also if I move the saddle too far back my arms tense. if I move it forward I think my legs are not working properly. They told me to put a 90° extension and fix the saddle and it will fix the problem.

I think this could be a good case to record yourself riding, especially side on. Important to get the saddle in the right place first before the front end
Rocker plates
Hi everyone, I (70 yrs young now) ride around 5–6 hours per week on a Kickr Bike, mainly following a structured training plan on Rouvy. Outdoors I usually do fun rides between 30 and 100 km, and after a professional bike fit (IBFI-certified studio), I have no real comfort issues there. My indoor setup is adjusted to match my gravel bike, but after about an hour of training, I start to feel some discomfort—mostly in my hands. To help reduce the effects of static positioning, I’ve just ordered a rocker plate (still waiting for it to arrive). Has anyone here used a rocker plate, and if so, what’s been your experience? Did it make a noticeable difference in comfort or realism during longer indoor sessions?

@Daniel Ward has one for his indoor set up. everyone I know that has experienced comfort issues in doors has managed to solve them by using a rocker so hopefully you will too. might also be worth checking if the bikes level including saddle, hand discomfort suggests excessive weight through the front of the bike. that said could simply be a case of you not making the micro adjustments and movements you naturally make when riding outdoors
