Cycling with sciatica - how to manage back issues?
Hi all, I’m a 59 year old recreational cyclist, hard tail gravel bike with flat bars. After a good run out (for me - 40 miles mixed terrain) I was gutted to be struck down for the 1st time in my life with sciatica, now diagnosed as L4/5 disc ruptured RHS. Let’s be clear the bike alone didnt cause this, but that ride was probably the straw which literally broke the camels back😁 My physio advises me it’s ok to ride but to ‘take it easy’. However she had no idea when I asked what I should do to my bike to prevent future flare ups and minimise any more damage to my back. I am considering: A) a suspension seat post (red shift looks pretty cool) B) MTB hi rise (40mm?? More??) bars to give a more upright riding position C) what effect the above might have on fit? Given my physios blank look, I thought I’d enquire here if anyone has similar experience and if the above mods might help? I totally get this will reduce performance, but I’m not competing, so this is not your typical bike fit Q&A! Thanks in advance for ideas, opinions, resources or contacts
Seat adjustment
Any input regarding infinity seat adjustment, I am still not comfortable with it

Burning Feet!
I have a burning sensation in the soles of my feet, pressure pad area over the cleats when I do approx. 60mes plus. I use G8 insoles and have done for a few years now. Does anyone think replacing them with new would help or is there something else I could try?
I'd like some feedback on my bike fit
I started cycling 2 years ago after having health and heart problems. I started with a hardtail MTB, and now I ride a road bike. I've gone from 101 kg to 83 kg, and the health problems have pretty much disappeared :) but I'm still struggling to get rid of the pain. I rode the 315 km Vätternrundan and experienced neck pain, numb hands, and soft tissue discomfort. This video was taken after the Vätternrundan, where I raised the saddle by 1 cm and moved it 1 cm further back. My measurements and bike setup: Height: 187 cm Saddle height: 785 mm 235 mm from the center of the bottom bracket to the center of the saddle 110 mm stem 420 mm handlebars 165 mm crank arms Orbea Orca size 57 Do you see anything drastic that I should perhaps be thinking about? I've tried two rides since then, but I still get mild numbness in my hands and neck pain, although I suspect I haven't fully recovered from the 315 km ride yet :)

Adductor/Front hip tightness
Hello there. I am experiencing a bit of Adductor/Front hip tightness. I'm pretty certain I have the saddle in the correct position fore-aft, height and tilt as I feel square on the saddle. 160mm cranks. Size 46 shoe size cleats are slammed far back as they go. I've tried a few different saddles with the Selle Italia size 130 SLR Boost Super flow being the better of them all. Anything wider than the 130 feels like I'm moving all over the place trying to get the pelvis to find the correct sitting area. At the moment, I've gone done 15mm on the front end as I do feel less tightness. Most likely it is not a hip impingement as I feel it more on the surface than a deep joint pain. Any thoughts/suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
