What the Push to Regulate Sports Agents Means in the NIL Era
This is an important update for athletes and parents as NIL continues to mature and become more regulated. 👉 Read the article here: https://www.reuters.com/legal/legalindustry/regulating-sports-agents-nil-era-what-colleges-agencies-need-know–pracin-2026-02-09/ This article from Reuters breaks down growing efforts to regulate sports agents in the NIL era and why colleges, agencies, and athletes are all paying closer attention. Here’s what this means in real terms: 1. Agents Are Under More Scrutiny As NIL deals increase, so does concern around: • Unregistered or unqualified agents • Conflicts of interest • Misleading promises to athletes and families This is pushing lawmakers and institutions to tighten rules around who can represent athletes and how. 2. Colleges Are Being Pulled Deeper Into Oversight The article highlights that schools are being asked to: • Monitor agent interactions more closely • Ensure compliance with state laws • Protect athletes from bad actors This means NIL conversations are no longer happening in a vacuum. 3. Not Every “Agent” Is Acting in an Athlete’s Best Interest One of the biggest risks discussed is athletes being approached too early or without proper guidance. Promises of: • Quick money • Easy deals • “I’ll handle everything for you” …are red flags when there’s no transparency or education behind them. 4. Education Is Becoming a Requirement, Not a Bonus As regulation increases, the athletes who succeed will be the ones who: • Understand what an agent can and cannot do • Know when representation actually makes sense • Can spot risky contracts or bad incentives • Have parents or trusted adults involved This article reinforces why timing matters when it comes to agents. The Bigger Takeaway NIL is moving from experimentation to enforcement. The athletes who protect themselves best are the ones who:

Tonight’s Coaching Call Is a Big Pivot — And It’s On Purpose
I want to give everyone a heads up that tonight’s coaching session is going to be extra special. Over the last few weeks, you’ve been learning how to: • Create clear, engaging content • Hold attention • Build consistency • Understand direction and intention Now, we’re pivoting. Tonight, we’re taking everything you’ve learned and putting it into action in a way that actually pays dividends later — not just likes, not just views, and not just one-off opportunities. This session is about: • Connecting content to something bigger • Understanding what all this attention is actually for • Learning how NIL can turn into leverage, not just deals • Starting to think beyond short-term wins This is where things start to shift from posting to building. If you’ve been showing up, learning, and doing the work, tonight’s call is going to help things click in a new way. Come ready to think, ask questions, and see how what you’re doing now can support you long after the season ends. Looking forward to seeing everyone tonight.

Why Everyone Starts With a Course (Levels 1–6)
I want to take a moment to explain why everyone is given a course to complete when they enter this community and why this matters more than most families realize. We are not building infrastructure so you can get one NIL deal. We are building infrastructure so you can create NIL opportunities for the rest of your life. Here’s a hard truth most people don’t talk about: Around 90% of athletes who get an NIL deal only get one and then it stops. Why? Because there was no system behind it. Just like winning one game doesn’t make you a champion, getting one NIL deal doesn’t mean it will keep happening. I’m 34 years old, and I’ve been living off my NIL for 14 years, not because I chased deals, but because I built infrastructure first. Systems first. Structure first. Most families don’t realize how hard it is to recreate opportunities once a moment passes. Without a system, every deal becomes luck. Every opportunity feels random. And when things slow down, everything stops. That’s where structure matters. The Levels 1–6 course exists to help you build: • clarity in who you are and what you offer • consistency in how you show up • systems that make opportunities repeatable • skills that travel with you long after sports end I know everyone in here wants to land NIL deals. That’s normal. But I want you to think bigger: Are you building toward one deal, or toward opportunities that last forever? That’s what I’m here to teach you but the work starts with you and your mindset. I hope everyone has a great Monday. Looking forward to seeing you tonight on the coaching call.
