Welcome Athletes to Winning Your Way!
Welcome to the Winning Your Way family! We’re excited to have you here. This community is designed to support athletes and parents as you learn, grow, and build your brand the right way — with clarity and structure. To help you get started, follow these steps in order: 1. Check Your DMs & Take the Assessment In the top right corner of your screen, you’ll see a DM icon next to the notification bell. Please click there first. When you joined, you were sent an assessment. Once you complete it, you’ll be given a level (1–6). After you receive your level, simply reply to the DM and let us know which level you’re on. From there, we’ll unlock your custom course, which your athlete will use to begin building the foundation of their brand. 2. Introduce Yourself to the Community Next, please create an introduction post so we can get to know you and start supporting you. In your post, include: • Your name • Sport • Age • Why you decided to join Winning Your Way • Your social media handles (so we can follow and support you) This helps build connection right away. 3. Watch the Pinned Navigation Video At the top of the community, you’ll see a pinned video. Please take a few minutes to watch it. This video shows you how to navigate the community, find resources, and avoid unnecessary scrolling. It will make everything much easier moving forward. After watching, spend some time exploring the community and engaging with posts. 4. Join Our Weekly Coaching Calls Live coaching calls happen every Monday at 7 PM EST, right here inside the community. Tennessee Softball Star Karlyn Pickens Signs Groundbreaking NIL Deal
Tennessee Lady Volunteers pitcher Karlyn Pickens has become the first college softball player to sign a name, image and likeness (NIL) deal with a professional softball league, the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL). What’s Going On - Historic NIL partnership: The Athletes Unlimited Softball League announced that it has signed Pickens, making her the first collegiate softball player to land an NIL deal directly with a pro league. - Role in the deal: Pickens will help raise awareness of the AUSL through marketing, social media posts, and promotional activities as part of the partnership. - Softball league context: The AUSL launched recently and features multiple teams and a professional format aimed at top softball talent. This deal marks a new NIL pathway for college softball players, linking collegiate stars with professional league branding before they ever enter the pro draft. Pickens has a strong social media presence (nearly 250,000+ followers) and also holds current NIL deals with major brands like New Balance and Rawlings, making her one of the sport’s top commercial faces. While Pickens is currently a senior at Tennessee, this agreement gives her off-field exposure and aligns her with the fastest-growing pro softball brand ahead of her anticipated AUSL draft spot. Pickens is one of the nation’s elite pitchers, a two-time SEC Pitcher of the Year and the fastest pitcher in NCAA softball history (79.4 mph). She helped Tennessee reach deep into the Women’s College World Series and has been a consensus All-American. 🏈 Tennessee QB Joey Aguilar Granted Temporary Restraining Order vs. NCAA
Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Joey Aguilar was granted a 15-day temporary restraining order (TRO) in his lawsuit against the NCAA challenging its eligibility rules. This court ruling prevents the NCAA from enforcing certain rules against Aguilar while his case moves forward, giving him a chance to continue pursuing eligibility to play in the 2026 season. Legal context: - Aguilar filed the lawsuit in Knox County Chancery Court after withdrawing from a federal case. - The TRO was issued by Chancellor Christopher D. Heagerty and will last at least 15 days while Aguilar seeks a preliminary injunction in court, with a hearing expected in mid-February. - The judge noted that Aguilar has shown a substantial likelihood of success on his claims and that immediate harm would occur without the TRO. He contends that junior college seasons should not count against his Division I eligibility. Aguilar played two years at Diablo Valley College before transferring first to Appalachian State and then to Tennessee. Counting his junior college seasons under current NCAA rules would limit him to fewer years of eligibility at the Division I level. PreAguilar was involved with a similar lawsuit connected to former Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia’s case, in which a preliminary court victory earlier helped secure an extra year of eligibility for junior college transfers. What this means? - The TRO doesn’t guarantee Aguilar will play in 2026, but it temporarily blocks enforcement of the eligibility rule while his legal challenge proceeds through court. - If Aguilar wins a permanent injunction or the lawsuit, he could return for another season with Tennessee in 2026.
