I just took a look at the CLASSIFIEDS calendar and realized that there are a ton of amazing opportunities coming up in the next couple of weeks!!! This week is the PERSONALS for premium members. Come and meet other members, network, talk about your community and how you help people openly, and discuss the topic of the month (this month we are talking about churn!). The following week, I'm in Chicago, but the week after that, I'm offering something once or even twice a day(!!!). What was I thinking? I have no idea. Maybe making up for lost time....? When you create a new Skool community, you naturally use the name you think it will have. For example, you create a community called “Tom and Jerry” and your link automatically becomes: skool.com/tom-and-jerry-1389 Seems normal. But here’s the thing. You will probably change the name. Almost everyone does! The problem? Your URL doesn’t change! You might rebrand your community to “The Pink Panther”, but your link stays stuck as skool.com/tom-and-jerry-1389. So here’s my tip (I recorded a video below to show you how it works): 1. When creating a new community, use a simple three-digit number as the name (e.g. "123"). 2. Your URL gets automatically assigned as skool.com/123-xxxx. 3. Right after, change the community name to your actual brand. Skool already assigns numbers in your community link after the “ - ” anyway, so you’re not doing anything strange here. This keeps your link flexible and future-proof. Then, when you’re truly ready, you can upgrade to Pro and choose a custom domain that looks cleaner with no numbers at all, like skool.com/ops. But don’t rush that step. I'm going to be honest with you. Yesterday I was walking around, doing my thing, and I noticed a star next to my name on Skool. I thought, "What the heck is that?" 😂 Had to look it up. Turns out, Crust & Crumb Academy is now in the top 1% of ALL communities on Skool. Not bread communities. Not food communities. All of them. And we're wearing a 5-star rating right alongside it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I basically Forrest Gumped my way into it. 🏃‍♂️ But here's the thing. I could be in here dancing a jig by myself and nobody would notice. Be honest… if you could rewind to Day 1, what would you change? A few I’ve learned the hard way whilst building The Prosperity Network: - I’d focus way more on early culture than early numbers - I’d design engagement loops from day one (challenges, simple leaderboards, quick wins) - I’d get tighter on the one clear outcome the community exists to deliver - I’d set up my tiers NOW, instead of waiting to feel “ready” The funny thing is, once momentum starts building, you realise the small stuff early on compounds massively later.
