Thrift store come up
Got this blazer for $25 at the local Goodwill. I uploaded these photos to Chat GPT because I was curious how much it was brand new. Turns out it was from the late 90s early 2000s and originally sold for $700-800. It’s still in amazing condition and fits me well (will fit even better after a trip to the tailor).

Feel free to share where you're from, why you're here, what you do for a living, and what you like about style. Are you a watch guy, suit guy, fragrance guy, or maybe just getting started? Have fun here!

Bingo!
Quick Christmas Casual.
Heading to our daughter’s to watch little granddaughter open presents. Normal Levi boot cut jeans and Justin roper boots. Blue plaid shirt by Bugatchi. Threw on a tan Brooks Brothers sport coat. Added an improvised “pocket square”…it’s a ribbon my wife made to decorate a Christmas gift!

Espousal to Blazer Ideology
Arguably the single most versatile jacket a man can have in his wardrobe is a classic navy blazer. It can be dressed up with a tie and dress shirt, nearly on par in terms of formality with the classic lounge suit or business suit that we know today, or dressed down with a chambray or corduroy work shirt and jeans -- and layered with everything in between from sweaters to vests and even polos. This makes the blazer work all four seasons, no matter where one resides. As a classic timeless piece, it also functions very well as a sort of blank canvas to which regional, cultural, and personal background accessories can be added to suit the wearer's individual style and taste. This extreme versatility of function is what makes a blazer so valuable to own, especially over time. I recently purchased a royal blue blazer on eBay, along with a pair of Allen Edmonds tassel loafers in oxblood, as unofficial Christmas presents to myself. I had these saved in my watch list for a while, and decided to pull the trigger. I'm excited to further explore the versatility of the blazer with a royal blue color option in addition to my dark navy blazer from Ralph Lauren. For more blazer exposure, inspiration, or indoctrination into the blazer ideology, check out the posts of our very own resident ambassador of the navy/blue blazer, @Brian McGuire . He wore one for 70 days straight with a different tie from his collection each day. I am strongly considering taking up the challenge myself 😁 I'm sure I could wear a blazer with each one of my ties, pairs of trousers, and shirts. 😏

I just got my first navy blazer the other day. Can’t wait to wear it. But first…alterations!

40 year old who never put much thought into dressing classy at all until now. Pretty much starting from scratch with a very low budget.
