Tea
Listen, if I can learn to like teas that AREN’T sweet tea (my absolute fav drink ever besides tequila 🤣) ANYONE CAN!! I hated it so much! I loathed it!! I had to add so many things to drink it. Now, I make It and I don’t add anything. I drink so many different flavors and types. Fresh herbals and store bought bags. Sometimes just a splash of lemon juice for those that are REALLY GOOD FOR YOU, but tastes awful is all it takes. Sometimes you have to break into them with some PMS or honey. Tea is excellent for you and I always wind my nights down with a sleepy tea. And yes I’m on a detox right, so my face is being stupid, but we have to trust the process!! What’s your fav teas???

I agree with this SO much!!! I didn’t even like sweet tea! I didn’t like hot chocolate or ANY hot drink at all! And now, I look forward to my green tea everyday! I LOVE it! Hooray for neuroadaptation!!! 🤩
Self Love 💗
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY, friends! ❤️ February is known as the month of love. We celebrate Valentine’s Day, National Make a Friend Day, and even Random Acts of Kindness Day. It seems as though February was intentionally set aside for us to show and express love to others! My question for you today is - do you love yourself as much as you love others? We’re conditioned our entire lives to serve others and neglect our own needs. This isn’t always verbally taught to us, yet we all subconsciously begin to believe it’s the right thing to do. If we didn’t believe that, we wouldn’t reach middle age and ask ourselves, “Who am I? What do I enjoy? Where did this extra 20 lbs. come from?” If you’ve ever asked yourself similar questions, you, my friend, haven’t shown yourself love for far too long - and today is the day that needs to change! When you’re focusing on your health and wellness, you aren’t acting selfishly—quite the opposite. Self-improvement improvement is self-love. I want you to stop and ask yourself, “What would my life look like if I loved myself as passionately as I love others?” This brings me to another point – finding ways to love yourself counts as a weekly win! 🎉Let’s change it up a little today and focus on finding one area where we can choose to love ourselves today! TAKING ACTION: - With it being Valentine’s Day, let’s focus on self-love. What is one area you’re choosing to extend unconditional love to yourself or your body today?

Happy Valentine’s Day, friends! I think the best way I have shown love to myself is giving myself the option of saying “No”. In the past, I would very easily overextend myself and stress myself to not have to say no to a request. I love helping out and doing for others, but I have really started to pay attention to the fact that I can’t help others until I help myself. So while I still get to be helpful, I am a little more cautious of when saying yes will negatively impact me. And by doing this, the times I can say yes, I am a better version of myself and way more helpful!
Accountability
“It’s the final countdown!” 🎶 Here we are, in the final week of our New Year’s “Reset, Refocus, and Lay Your Foundation” theme. We’ve talked a lot about mindset, awareness, and even some of our core strategies. What we haven’t discussed yet (but is absolutely essential for building a strong foundation) is – ACCOUNTABILITY. I know, I know. This one’s a hard one to hear, especially if you haven’t been showing up lately. But that doesn’t make the message any less true. Friends, I know you’re busy. I know some of you are introverted. I know some of you don’t want to show up because you’ve been MIA lately and welcoming accountability feels shameful, overwhelming, etc. The truth is that accountability adds SO much to your journey – and your chances of success! It’s incredibly difficult to lay a strong foundation without some sort of accountability along the way. 💯 We’re going to talk more about accountability throughout the week (and how I know that it’s important), but for now, I’m asking you to lean into this week. Show up for yourself - even if you’re busy. Even if you’re introverted. Even if you’ve been MIA. We’re a team and we’re in this together. ⭐️I’ll end with this quote by Joe Dumars: “On good teams, coaches hold players accountable. On great teams, players hold players accountable.” TAKING ACTION: - This week, I’m challenging you all to hold each other accountable! As the quote above says, “On great teams, players hold players accountable.” Comment ME below if you’re committing to showing up this week for accountability!

Tuesday Eats 🍕
I know what you’re thinking: “If I’m going to allow for accountability, this needs to be easy.” Well, friends, I’m not sure it gets much easier than dinner that can be prepared on a single sheet pan! 👏 I can’t think of anything simpler than to throw a bunch of protein and veggies on a sheet pan and call it a day! The great thing about sheet pan dinner recipes (other than the fact they’re quick and easy) is that they’re extremely versatile! You can choose any kind of protein and pick your own vegetables, as well! 🍕Check out this gluten-free chicken pizza sheet pan recipe below! (Use personal discretion when it comes to the cheese. Personally, I wouldn’t add cheese at all or I would use a DF cheese) You’ll also find even more sheet pan dinner ideas tucked inside the article below! ⬇️ Gluten-Free Chicken "Pizza" Sheet Pan Dinner - Lexi's Clean Kitchen Tuesday Tip: If you’d like to get this delicious meal on the dinner table even faster, take 15 minutes earlier in the day to chop up your chicken and veggies! Have children or grandchildren? Protein
👉 What’s the first word that comes to your mind when you hear the word “protein”? If I had to guess, most of you, if not all, thought of the word “muscle”. Am I right or am I right? I can only assume most people think of muscle when they think about the word protein and that’s for good reason! Protein is critical for not only building muscle but maintaining it, as well! 💪 ✨ Many women come to me who want to build a lean physique. Almost all of these women aren’t consuming enough protein to build the body they're hoping for. ✨ Many aging women also come to me and feel “squishy” all of a sudden. Most of these women aren’t squishy because they’re gaining fat. What they don’t realize is they’re losing muscle! Again, almost all of them aren’t consuming enough protein to maintain their lean muscle tissue. I think it’s safe to say we all understand the role protein plays when it comes to muscle, but friends, protein does so much more for you! Check out some of the other benefits that aren’t always recognized: 🍗 Protein helps your metabolism. You use more energy to digest and break down energy than with any other macro.🔥 🍗 Because it takes longer for your body to digest protein, it also satiates you for longer. 🍗 Protein curbs sugar cravings. Don’t believe me? Try it! The next time you experience a sugar craving, try eating a nice portion of protein + fiber and wait 20 minutes. I can almost guarantee your craving will be gone! 🍗 Protein is found everywhere in your body. It is an important building block of your bones, cartilage, hair, and skin. Sources of protein: organic meats, beans, legumes, spinach, kale, broccoli, mushrooms, asparagus, edamame, tofu, chia seeds, peanut butter 🎉FUN FACT: Just like all carbs aren’t considered equal, neither are protein sources/supplements! If you supplement with a protein powder, here is the one I suggest: https://aleiahkennedy.thegoodinside.com/shop/product/organic-super-protein

I try to think it through and add protein to meal! I like meat but I don’t love it! So, I am thankful there are yummy ways to get protein that aren’t all meat related!! @Aleiah Kennedy do you recommend a minimum amount of protein or would everyone’s minimum be different?
