You ARE your thoughts 💭
“Whether you believe you can do a thing or not, you’re right.” ~Henry Ford TAKING ACTION: ✅ Share with us below—do your thoughts often get the best of you? Do you find yourself self-sabotaging simply due to your thoughts about what you can or can’t do? If you’ve been showing up for yourself the last couple of weeks, you know we’ve been discussing the idea of capacity—and how to honor it, but potentially also expand it during the holidays. I can’t tell you whether or not you’re in a place for expansion (capacity building), but I know one thing to be certain ⬇️ If you think you can’t, you’ll be right. Per the article attached, “Our thoughts lead to our perceptions, behaviors, actions, interactions, and choices.” Humans aren’t only wired to hold one thought at a time, but we’re wired to focus on the negative. This is why we often self-sabotage—simply by our thoughts alone! 💯 The good news is that you can change your thoughts, but it takes practice and intentionality. Just as our negative thoughts precede giving up or failure, it also works the other way around—if you think you can, your chances of success improve! 🚀 You are your thoughts, friends. This is almost completely true. Think you don’t have the capacity or discipline for success during the holidays? You won’t. Think you do? You will. If time permits, I encourage you to check out this great article below on the power of our thoughts! 🧠 ⬇️OPTIONAL READING⬇️ Positive or Negative, Our Thoughts Shape Our Lives | Psychology Today

Great article! I completely agree with this! I remind my kids of this regularly! While it isn’t always easy to be positive, it is worth it and makes a huge difference!
Recipe Tuesday 🍠
TAKING ACTION: ✅Which do you prefer at Thanksgiving—mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, both 😆, or neither? ✅Focus on the fundamentals today and keep it simple—Water, Workout, and Whole Foods! It’s Tuesday, and you know what that means—it’s time for a delicious and healthy recipe! But not just any recipe. This month, I’m offering up healthy Thanksgiving recipe swaps for your favorite holiday dishes! 🦃 Here’s the deal. You don’t have to make swaps for every dish you love. After all, many of the common dishes we love to enjoy are typically only prepared during this season. With that said, replacing one or two items on your plate with a healthier alternative is a great way to practice balance! As I always say, it doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Something is always better than nothing! Last week, I gave you a healthy mashed potato recipe, but I think it’s safe to say that Thanksgiving calls for sweet potato casserole, as well! Most sweet potato casserole recipes are filled with added sugar, but as you’ll see in the gluten-free/dairy-free recipe below, it doesn’t have to be! 👏 P.S. If the link doesn’t take you straight to the recipe, please click on the top link, and it should take you straight to the recipe! Healthy Sweet Potato Casserole - JoyFoodSunshine

Tea
Listen, if I can learn to like teas that AREN’T sweet tea (my absolute fav drink ever besides tequila 🤣) ANYONE CAN!! I hated it so much! I loathed it!! I had to add so many things to drink it. Now, I make It and I don’t add anything. I drink so many different flavors and types. Fresh herbals and store bought bags. Sometimes just a splash of lemon juice for those that are REALLY GOOD FOR YOU, but tastes awful is all it takes. Sometimes you have to break into them with some PMS or honey. Tea is excellent for you and I always wind my nights down with a sleepy tea. And yes I’m on a detox right, so my face is being stupid, but we have to trust the process!! What’s your fav teas???

I agree with this SO much!!! I didn’t even like sweet tea! I didn’t like hot chocolate or ANY hot drink at all! And now, I look forward to my green tea everyday! I LOVE it! Hooray for neuroadaptation!!! 🤩
Self Love 💗
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY, friends! ❤️ February is known as the month of love. We celebrate Valentine’s Day, National Make a Friend Day, and even Random Acts of Kindness Day. It seems as though February was intentionally set aside for us to show and express love to others! My question for you today is - do you love yourself as much as you love others? We’re conditioned our entire lives to serve others and neglect our own needs. This isn’t always verbally taught to us, yet we all subconsciously begin to believe it’s the right thing to do. If we didn’t believe that, we wouldn’t reach middle age and ask ourselves, “Who am I? What do I enjoy? Where did this extra 20 lbs. come from?” If you’ve ever asked yourself similar questions, you, my friend, haven’t shown yourself love for far too long - and today is the day that needs to change! When you’re focusing on your health and wellness, you aren’t acting selfishly—quite the opposite. Self-improvement improvement is self-love. I want you to stop and ask yourself, “What would my life look like if I loved myself as passionately as I love others?” This brings me to another point – finding ways to love yourself counts as a weekly win! 🎉Let’s change it up a little today and focus on finding one area where we can choose to love ourselves today! TAKING ACTION: - With it being Valentine’s Day, let’s focus on self-love. What is one area you’re choosing to extend unconditional love to yourself or your body today?

Happy Valentine’s Day, friends! I think the best way I have shown love to myself is giving myself the option of saying “No”. In the past, I would very easily overextend myself and stress myself to not have to say no to a request. I love helping out and doing for others, but I have really started to pay attention to the fact that I can’t help others until I help myself. So while I still get to be helpful, I am a little more cautious of when saying yes will negatively impact me. And by doing this, the times I can say yes, I am a better version of myself and way more helpful!
Accountability
“It’s the final countdown!” 🎶 Here we are, in the final week of our New Year’s “Reset, Refocus, and Lay Your Foundation” theme. We’ve talked a lot about mindset, awareness, and even some of our core strategies. What we haven’t discussed yet (but is absolutely essential for building a strong foundation) is – ACCOUNTABILITY. I know, I know. This one’s a hard one to hear, especially if you haven’t been showing up lately. But that doesn’t make the message any less true. Friends, I know you’re busy. I know some of you are introverted. I know some of you don’t want to show up because you’ve been MIA lately and welcoming accountability feels shameful, overwhelming, etc. The truth is that accountability adds SO much to your journey – and your chances of success! It’s incredibly difficult to lay a strong foundation without some sort of accountability along the way. 💯 We’re going to talk more about accountability throughout the week (and how I know that it’s important), but for now, I’m asking you to lean into this week. Show up for yourself - even if you’re busy. Even if you’re introverted. Even if you’ve been MIA. We’re a team and we’re in this together. ⭐️I’ll end with this quote by Joe Dumars: “On good teams, coaches hold players accountable. On great teams, players hold players accountable.” TAKING ACTION: - This week, I’m challenging you all to hold each other accountable! As the quote above says, “On great teams, players hold players accountable.” Comment ME below if you’re committing to showing up this week for accountability!
