Scents of the week
Mixed up the pallette this week with fresh, creamy and bold fragrances. Cognac Cafe or Black Phantom part two is also created by Sidonie Lancesseur. They are pretty close in scent profile so this would be the cost efficient option if you've been eyeing Killian's Black Phantom. Argos Pour Homme created by Christian Petrovic is supposed to be a citrus gin and pine scent supported by lavender vetiver musk's, cedar patchouli. I did get a great wearing experience out of my sample but the full bottle smells nothing like the sample and is my most disappointing fragrance experience I've had from argos. Not sure how I could of gotten a bad bottle if they are hand bottled. I continue to try this a couple of times a year in hopes of a change Premium Blend Original Penguin Created by Harry Fremont is a excellent summer cheapie with notes of lime peel, peppermint bergamot sea notes sea salt violet leaf rosemary driftwood musk and vetiver. If you've never tried summer fragrances in the winter reach for one. You may be surprised by the experience. Sauvage edt is my favorite in the winter. Nishane Fan your flames created by Jorge Lee is my favorite boozey coconut fragrance of all time. With notes of coconut, rum, tobacco, tonka bean, Chinese cedar and Oak Moss this for me is perfection and is great in the winter. Sample of the week is Blockade by Mind Games. Created by Christelle Laprade this in my opinion is the top fragrance in the aventus vein. The mango and tomato leaf set this apart from Aventus in a good way. Christelle has a nice catalog of fragrances she's created many of which are under the mind games brand including double attack, french defense and queening. What are you guys and gals wearing for Valentine's day tomorrow? Tap in and let me know. Have a great day folks.

Hey is that the intense desir toxic? If so what are your thoughts compared to the original?

@Lon Chaneyfield I've been hesitant to try the intense since the original seems plenty strong for me. Thanks for the insight.... I'll have to sample it.
Jo Malone London Wood Sage & Sea Salt
Jo Malone London Wood Sage & Sea Salt is a popular, unisex aromatic-woody fragrance, designed to evoke the fresh, breezy, and mineral-rich atmosphere of the British coastline. It features key notes of sea salt, sage, and ambrette seeds, creating a crisp, earthy, and lightly musky scent profile. It is often used for daily wear due to its light, inoffensive nature,

Sounds like a 4 season winner 🏆.
Blind Buy Success / Failures
I saw this on YouTube, and thought it might be fun to do here. The idea is to talk about your adventures with blind buys. Talk about 2 that were successful, and 2 that weren't so good I'll go first: Fail: 1. French Avenue Liquid Brun - I avoided buying it because I knew it was a hype trap. But then I tried PDM Altair in the store while waiting for my dinner date, and was really impressed by it. My date liked the scent, and so I put it in the back of my mind. A year later, I found Liquid Brun at the rack store and decided to pick it up. I don't think it smells anything like the PDM. Maybe it's a bad batch, or I just need to let it mature on the shelf for a bit, but every time I've given it a chance, it's proven to be too sickly sweet for my taste and has a weird chemical smell underneath it. I've compared it to other Liquid Brun samples, and it's the same, so I don't think I have a fake. But this was a big disappointment. 2. Lalique Pour Homme Lion - Got a TON of hype online as one of the best daily wear office fragrances. It was only like the 4th or 5th fragrance I ever bought, and one of my first blind buys. Completely forgettable. I just sprayed it a few minutes ago, and I can't tell you what it smells like anymore. I've tried to give it away twice, and each time, it got returned back to me, LOL Triumph 1. Mauboussin Star Pour Homme - bought as a blind buy after a recommendation from TPG on YouTube. The notes sounded good, but the price - $25 - was even better. It has become one of my all time favorites for date nights and colder evenings. I think it rivals Faragamo Signature Uomo and Mercedes Club Black for best masculine vanilla scent out there, and the price is an absolute steal. 2. Lattafa Vintage Radio - I had never heard of Initio, much less Paragon. Had no idea that I would like plum notes so freaking much. I bought it at the same time as Lalique, otherwise, i probably would have quit buying fragrances at that point. It's still one of my favorite fragrances and one of the best plum themed fragrances on the market.

@Stephen DeMent The cloning is definitely expanding. Hacivat in my opinion smells like an oak moss heavy Blockade by Mind Games…which is in the Aventus ball park but better in my opinion. I find Hacivat and Blockade to be addictive but similar so if you have anything comparable you could probably stay away. I’d recommend a sample though. It’s fascinating how something can’t be so similar and more enjoyable.
