Happy 250! SOTD: Polo Deep Blue Parfum
Happy 250 y'all! I'm sticking to American houses only today, and Polo is probably my favorite. Polo Deep Blue Parfum is also my favorite from the house. Unfortunately discontinued, but you can still find it on discounters at the moment. This is a blue marine-aquatic ambroxan fragrance. It opens with a bright citrus and green mango. The mango is not sweet at all; it's tart, sharp, and slightly bitter. It works very well with the citrus. Then towards the mid, you start getting this green/herbaceous vibe coming through mainly from the cypress and clary sage. Nothing too green, maybe 20% green at best. Works well with the other notes to give it a nice fresh spicy and aromatic kick. It stays pretty linear from here on out, I maybe smell a little bit of musk towards the end, but that's about it. The heavy ambroxan and marine notes are present from beginning to end. And gentlemen, it performs VERY well. I get an easy 8 hours with this scent and very loud projection for 3-4 hours. Something about the synthetic nature gives it some pretty serious performance. Cons: Synthetic, Linear, Discontinued Pros: Fresh, Versatile, Good performance, Reasonably priced I love blue fragrances, and I really enjoy this one a lot. It might not be for everyone, but it's a 9/10 for me. Hope y'all have a great 4th of July!

I threw on four sprays and my son was guessing what it is and says it smells like a Banana Republic 😳😳😳

SOTD: Shiyaaka Shadow by Khadlaj 03/07/26
This is Oriental Spicy / Woody Aromatic men’s release from Dubai‑based Khadlaj, launched in 2025 from their Special Edition line. No single perfumer is credited, which is typical for the ME houses. I went in expecting a decent budget clone, but it surprised me: it’s smooth & balanced, sitting somewhere between fresh office wear & subtle evening presence without ever feeling generic or cheap. The closest fragrance I can compare it too is probably Bad Boy Cobalt, but this has its own cleaner, woodier identity that stands up on its own. The note progression is straightforward but well‑blended. Up top a bitter Grapefruit, pink pepper, lavender for a bright, zesty citrus that cuts through a soft spice kick, with lavender adding that clean aromatic edge so it never feels sharp or metallic. At the core, Cashmere wood, amber & cedarwood . This is where it settles into comfort; cashmere gives a soft, velvety warmth, amber adds resinous depth, while cedar keeps it structured and masculine. The Base has Moss, patchouli & musk for an earthy, grounded finish. The moss and patchouli stop it turning too sweet, while white musk wraps it in a skin‑close smoothness that lasts. It evolves slowly, no sudden shifts, just a gentle slide from fresh opening to woody‑earthy drydown. Performance is solid for the price: 6 hours on skin, with moderate‑strong projection for the first 2 hours then a soft, noticeable trail. I get a comfortable scent bubble that you can pick up without it being overpowering, and it holds even in mild heat. This wears really well, versatile enough for office, casual days, or cooler evenings; it leans fresh enough for spring/summer but has enough depth for autumn/winter. Compared to Bad Boy Cobalt, it’s less metallic and fruity, more woody and grounded; this is a reliable workhorse, great value if you want presence without spending big money. My Rating 6/10 Scent 2 Longevity 1.5 Sillage 1.5 Y/N 1

Okaaay !!!! You've peaked my interest here.
The Green Monster
If Interlude Man is the Blue Beast, Beach Hut Man is the Green Monster. A mint and Ivy bomb: 12-16 hours’ longevity and strong projection. Subversively misnamed, like King Blue. It smells nothing like a beach – neroli, coconut, salt. Rather, it smells like a lush Indonesian rainforest. It’s richer and deeper than any other green fragrance on the market.

I'd love to give this one another smell..i do recall the name being a little misleading but that is also part of the allure to try it again
SOTD - Historic Olmeda by Afnan
Today marks Day 2 of my five-day Afnan Discovery odyssey. After the bang average 9pm Elixir yesterday, we're feeling Blue with Historic Olmeda. Is a fragrance dispensed from a tiny "stone" pillar good enough to build up my hopes? From the outset, the bottle design brooks no understatement. It's a blue bottle, for a Blue fragrance. As Blue scents are a packed category on my shelf, a shelf for which there's an actual waiting list for prospective residents, Olmeda will have to go gangbusters to even make it to the wobbly table situated by the bins. It starts strong. Fresh, citrus, check. No sign of anything aquatic, but that's likely for the best considering my personal chemistry. What there IS, however, is a bold blast of pepper backed with cardamom, a combination that definitely tickles my tastebuds. I love a pepper note, and this delivers in spades. It's loud, sure, but it's blended enough to feel classy while being spicy enough to rattle a few windows. If that continued for a goodly time, I'd be waxing poetic about this release to all who'd listen. But after an hour, the profile shifts, deepens, smooths down, and becomes personal. It's not a bad thing, but it does feel a partial surrender, a small betrayal to my younger aspect who'd be happy to blast this for days. Here, the comparison with Bleu de Chanel is likely the most obvious, but while BDC stands out through a superior refinement, Olmeda feels slightly more basic at its core. It's nice, and it lasts a good 8-10 hours at an intimate proximity, but it feels more generic than I'd been hoping since the initial spicy fanfare suggested. Overall, I think it's a Maybe from me. Not a strong Maybe either, but I do think that I might be swayed into a purchase driven by the ultra low cost and the value proposition contained within. If you're looking for alternative Blueness, this is definitely worth a consideration. I'm not, so I don't think it passes muster.

There is a place in the market for a basic BDC that lasts 8-10 hours at a fraction the cost. Not bad at all.
