I'm Sorry!
Other than ticking over in here for the last couple of months, running this free group has taken a bit of a back seat if I'm honest. And doesn't it show! Like a ghost town in here ๐Ÿ‘ป So I'm going to get back in to the groove of showing up regularly - not with all the answers, as I don't have them, but hopefully to grow this community and boost the support, engagement, and results people get from being here. What is your number one struggle right now and what do you think might help? let us know in the comments what's going on, what you think you may need to do to make progress - and lets make a plan for you to get some success. Everything worthwhile takes time. It was 9 months of Pilates before I started lifting weights properly again, and a year before I picked up the rugby ball. Dabbling for a few weeks and bailing out is not going to get you results. A progressive plan while assessing and improving your overall lifestyle habits will make for huge change. Most people know what they need to do really, it's just doing it. No one is going to save you, other than you ๐Ÿซต So let's go!
I'm Sorry!

Hi Russ, hope you're well bud. My biggest challenge atm is hip flexibility after a walk or a skate, I need to sort this. Maybe an alignment issue due to my old back injury.

Awesome & happy 40th Russ. I'm about to do a skate roller derby ref course so guess I might get busy soon. Will let you know how I get on & thanks again ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป
Mobility Challenge Intro!
Day 1๏ธโƒฃ of 1๏ธโƒฃ4๏ธโƒฃ is tomorrow and so here's just a brief intro and explanation of how the challenge will work and an outline of the exercises. https://www.skool.com/pilatesathome/classroom/093cdb55?md=eba2a3835b7c4d0d88862cfdf43f21f9 Remember, the key is getting in regular daily movement, not pushing the levels on necessarily. Especially with any hip or knee issues, conditions etc. You'll find a warm up, and a stretch session under the mobility challenge in the Challenges category, to use as you see beneficial for you. More likley needed in the later levels. Level 1 is around 10 mins Final level 6 is just short of 20 mins. One thing I don't mention in the video, is that there is a prize for the most supportive member during the challenge. When you look at the leaderboards tab, the No1 place on the 7 day leaderboard on the 6th July, get's their months membership fee back. Being the most supportive member is based on engagement in the community throughout the challenge. Commenting on the challenge posts (or any), providing support, encouragement and generally chatting to other members, likes, and also creating your own posts, will all provide points. Here's to a fun, community based challenge that will hopefully also yield us some big movement results.. Russ

What IS YOUR Biggest Challenge?
I am pretty confident many people will have the same problem. And I don't mean back pain. I think I know what most people's barrier is to getting results in overcoming their pain and injury. And I'll let you know the top 3 reasons below (that I hear). But I want to hear YOURS ๐Ÿซต Of course, I may likely be wildly wrong. I did overcome my own debilitating back pain, multiple surgeries from rugby, dislocation and finger breaks etc. And I vividly remember the journey coming back from back pain. I have also worked with hundreds of people wanting to overcome their pain. So I have an idea of the challenges. But by no means definitively or all. So please take 1 minute to comment what you feel the biggest barrier to overcoming your back pain (or other injury) is. I will use these responses to create more content, and provide more value around these areas. BTW for me, I believe the biggest barriers to be: 1๏ธโƒฃ No belief it will work, so not putting in the effort 2๏ธโƒฃ Being unable to stay consistent while navigating the messiness that is life 3๏ธโƒฃ Not being in enough pain to motivate the action and changes which may be needed. Please let us know in the comments your biggest barriers to significant progress, and we will hit it head on ๐Ÿ‘‡

Hi Russ, the pain I get from trying to make things better if that makes sense is my barrier & affecting my ability to work ect.
What Do You Do?
How do you identify? (Not like that) I almost always identify myself as a Pilates instructor and back pain coach. However a more important identity for me is being a dad of 2 toddlers under 4 (well, the boy is turning 4 Monday) and hopefully being a great dad & partner. I also identify myself as a fitness person generally, with strength training and mobility being my main focus currently. Let us know in the comments the 3 top things that make up your identity, who you are, what's important to you ๐Ÿซต

I need action takers. Comment Below ๐Ÿ‘‡ Everyone here signed up for a reason. You have the tools and support right here to make a difference. But only 35% (Approx 35 people out of 100) are taking action. And only around 5 % are engaging in the community, asking questions or for support, making commitments to the actions they need to do. If you need skin in the game to help you take action then check out the 7 day free trial of my paid membership by clicking here I will have to remove members who have been completely inactive for over a month or so because our rankings within Skool get absolutely crushed if you have a high percentage of inactive community members. The higher we rank as a community, the bigger impact we have, the more people we reach - and ranking is all based on engagement. Having said all this - What action will you be taking as we start a fresh week? 1 simple consistent action. Let us know below ๐Ÿ‘‡

Sitting on the sidelines sorry folks, back in atrial fibrillation post cardiac ablation & awaiting pacemaker to be fitted. Russ, if it's easier for me to jump off and not affect your stats, let me know and I will delete and re join later? Have a great day everybody.
