I recently read something interesting: women are more prone to autoimmune diseases, and some research suggests that chronic stress and suppressed emotions (especially anger) can play a role in triggering or worsening these conditions.
One study from the Journal of Psychosomatic Research found that holding in strong emotions can keep your body in a prolonged stress response. This means higher cortisol levels, more inflammation, and over time, it may contribute to autoimmune flare-ups (Segerstrom & Miller, 2004).
So what’s the takeaway?
"VENGEANCE!!"...🫠 Well that was my daughter's advice 🤦♀️ So lean into the urge to slap someone today 👋
But really you don’t have to slap anyone (please don’t).
Finding a HEALTHY outlet for frustration can actually be good for your health.
As mompreneurs, we juggle so much. It’s easy to put a smile on and push feelings down just to get through the day. But your body keeps the score. Giving yourself space to acknowledge and process those emotions isn’t a weakness—it’s maintenance for your mind, body, and business.
How do you let off steam in a way that works for you? I’d love to hear your go-to “reset” when you’re feeling the pressure build.
