😅 An Unexpected Swimming Lesson
I have 4 small kids ages 7, 5, 3, and 2. We haven't really gone out and done much for the last 3 years due to constant pregnancies and postpartum so we FINALLY got around to signing our 7 and 5 year old up for swimming lessons. Today was supposed to be the day! I did all of my calls today, made dinner early so they wouldn't be hungry and even made sure they ate 2 hours before when they would be swimming. It was all perfect. 🫠 but then, they got nervous. So nervous that on the way over there, both of them threw up all over themselves and the car seats. By the time we got there, the itinerary for us had completely changed. I cleaned them both up, cleaned up their car seats, called my husband to tell him we were on our way home, and called the place to let them know what had happened and that we'd try again next week. We got home and got them both into a bath and now they're snuggling up in bed, eating popsicles, and watching cartoons with their dad. 🙃 and, I have to be honest, I feel bad for them but i'm also really frustrated. Swimming is SO important. It's a life saving skill! It's something that's non negotiable. They HAVE to learn it. and yet, when I was SO excited to finally get this under their belt, we had to delay it another week because they just weren't ready. So, we'll try again next week, and while i'm mad, I am not mad at them. It isn't there fault. 👉 and it makes me think about how sometimes we know there is a skill we HAVE to learn to take our business to the next level and we get frustrated about how we aren't learning the skill fast enough. Sometimes it's because it's harder than we thought it'd be and other times, we're too nervous to even start. But honestly, if you're really struggling, it's okay to just try again next week. 😅 Anybody else been in a similar situation or just me?
