120:After practicing for two years, if you still lack Qi sensations or they remain unclear, what should you do?
Dr.Pang said : Practice XingShenZhuang with intense effort, focusing on the sensations of soreness and pain, and direct your concentration deeply into these feelings. Particularly when performing movements like "Upright Palm with Separated Fingers," "Hunched Shoulders and Retracted Neck," and "Springy Legs with Raised Feet," execute each action with force and sustain it with determination. For "Hunched Shoulders and Retracted Neck": retract, retract, retract again—until the shoulders ache intensely. For "Upright Palm with Separated Fingers": aim to complete 100 repetitions in one session. For "Springy Legs with Raised Feet": maintain the posture for 10 minutes, pushing hard to raise the feet and press the legs down until soreness sets in. Once the wave of soreness passes, the normal sensation of Qi will emerge.

119:At what stage does one begin to perceive Qi as a tangible sensation?
Dr.Pang said: There is no fixed standard for this—it must be realized through one’s own practice. Only when you have personally experienced it will the tangible sense of Qi become real. In Qigong, some questions cannot be answered with precise criteria, and some truths are beyond words. Once, a comrade discussed his practice with me. I asked him, “What do you focus your mind on?” He replied, “I focus on the ‘Center’.” I then asked, “What is the ‘Center’? How do you define it?” Suddenly, he exclaimed, “Ah! Now I feel it!” Because he had reached that level, a slight hint with intention or Qi—just pointing, “This is it”—was enough for him to perceive. Had he not yet reached that stage, no amount of explanation would have sufficed. Practicing Qigong requires developing a perceptual understanding unique to the discipline, as many Qigong phenomena cannot be directly verified like everyday experiences. For example, if something is white, you can see it; if it’s hard, you can touch it. But in Qigong, such understanding must be earned through diligent training. Only when this intuitive perception is established can one truly delve into the profound study of Qigong.

118:After gathering Qi in the practice area, I experience an explosive sensation in my head just as I fall asleep. What is the reason for this phenomenon?
Dr.Pang said: The phenomenon of explosions in the head (which may not necessarily occur only when falling asleep) can arise from different circumstances: One is when Qi rushes inward but cannot penetrate, creating a sensation that results in an internal "bang." Another is when an outward expansion occurs from within, aiming to unify the Yi Yuan Ti, which can also produce an internal sound. In either case, do not focus on it. Calm your spirit and gently direct your awareness to the Hunyuan palace, integrating the upper and lower energies. This will suffice.
