Thoughts from a newbie

Hi everyone! I am so excited for this KAL. I am expecting virtually everything in the pattern (except for the actual knitting!) to be new to me and am looking forward to the challenge. I fell in love with the ghali sweater and purchased the pattern, but plan on using this project to teach me the skills I need to do it justice. Unfortunately, I dont have enough stash yarn to use so will be hitting my local wool factory tomorrow to get prepared. Acrylic yarn is a lot more budget friendly for me, will this be okay? I plan on using hayfield bonus DK as the gauge on the label is almost the same as Zanete recommends
