🕰️ Watch Fact: The Origin of the Brushed Finish
Before the 1950s, most watches were fully polished - shiny, elegant, made for dress wear. Then sports and tool watches came along. Pilots, divers, and field watch wearers needed something tougher - a finish that wouldn’t glare in sunlight or show every scratch. That’s when the brushed finish took over. It wasn’t just a design choice - it was functional. The texture hides wear, reduces reflection, and gives a rugged look that still feels refined. Even today, a brushed case says utility and confidence, while polished screams luxury and attention. 👉 Are you team Brushed (toughness) or Polished (presence)? Drop your watch pic below 👇

Which would you rather wear?
Just a fun pick to see ones preference. I myself am partial to the Longines Hydroconquest GMT, especially in the blue dial, I tried to stay with the black dials for purpose of a closer match to compare. The Rolex Master II GMT comes in a 40mm automatic with a stainless steel case and sapphire crystal dome. It has a date complication and is water resistant to 100 meters. It has a 70 hour power reserve. $19,995 The Longines Hydroconquest GMT comes in a 41mm & 43mm automatic self winding with a stainless steel case and sapphire crystal dome. It has a date complication and is water resistant to 300 meters. It has a 72 hour power reserve. $3,350.00
