WOTD - Saturday 3 Jan
Got the Tudor Royal 41 on for its first seat of 2026. While at my mates place in Melbourne, his partner helped me to more automate my Spreadsheet. I mean it’s like I had my own personnel helpdesk assistant. Zor El and I have been geeking out about watches and spreadsheets this morning, so much fun.

WOTD - Friday 2 Jan
ROAD TRIIIIIIIPPPPPP Stopped of and grabbed a coffee at the local and also had one in the travel mug in the car. The Islander Greenport got the run. I am only away for 3 days but bought 4 watches with me 🤔

Why is this watch not more popular.
I've just been reading up on all the features on the Longines VHP this is such a cool watch. I think I need one of these. The Longines Conquest V.H.P. (Very High Precision) is widely considered one of the most advanced quartz watches ever made. While standard quartz watches are accurate to about 15 seconds per month, the V.H.P. aims for a different league entirely. Here is a summary of its standout features: 1. Extreme Accuracy The headline feature is its precision. The movement is thermocompended (it adjusts for temperature changes that usually affect quartz crystals) to achieve an accuracy of \pm 5 seconds per year. For context, a high-end mechanical chronometer might lose that much time in a single day. 2. GPD (Gear Position Detection) System This is the "brain" of the watch. The V.H.P. constantly remembers the position of its hands. - Shock Resistance: If the watch suffers a heavy physical impact, the hands may move out of place. The GPD system detects this and automatically snaps them back to the exact correct time. - Magnetic Protection: If the watch is exposed to a magnetic field, it will pause the hands to prevent damage and then reset them to the correct time once the field is gone. 3. The "Smart Crown" Unlike traditional watches where you "wind" the hands, the V.H.P. crown is electronic. - Slow Turn: Moves the hands minute-by-minute for precise setting. - Quick Flick: Causes the hour hand to jump exactly one hour forward or backward, which is perfect for changing time zones without losing your precise second and minute settings. 4. Perpetual Calendar The watch is programmed to know the length of every month (including leap years) until the year 2399. You will never have to manually adjust the date at the end of a 30-day month. 5. Energy Management - Long Battery Life: The battery typically lasts around 5 years. - Power Saving Mode: If you aren't wearing the watch, you can pull the crown out to put it in "sleep mode." The hands will stop at 12 o'clock to save battery, but the internal "brain" keeps counting time. When you push the crown back in, the hands spin automatically to the current correct time. - EOL (End of Life) Indicator: When the battery is low, the second hand will jump in 5-second increments to signal it's time for a change.

Because you watch guys are snobs and dont like quartz 😂 I honestly think it is because it is in the Longines stable, is a higher priced (for a reason) watch and people over look Quartz.

@Jeffrey Plotka That @Warren Money guy is the kind of Pretentious, Pompous and Prideful watch snob that looks down on us all
New Year, New Piece to the Collection
One of the Advisors I helped retire this past year gave me an incredible thank you gift. Interestingly, depending on the light, the face seems to change color - tan, silver, white. I love the textured face. I present the Omega SeaMaster Grey Dial 300M. Another Grail off my list. Two down, three to go. May you have an equally enjoyable start to your New Year. Description Grey (Waves) dial. Silver-tone stainless steel case with a silver-tone stainless steel band. Automatic movement. 300 meters / 1000 feet water resistance. Uni-directional Rotating bezel. Deployment with Push Button Release clasp. Case size 42 mm. Omega 210.30.42.20.06.001 Seamaster Watch.
