šŸ•°ļø Watch Fact: The Origin of the Brushed Finish
Before the 1950s, most watches were fully polished - shiny, elegant, made for dress wear. Then sports and tool watches came along. Pilots, divers, and field watch wearers needed something tougher - a finish that wouldn’t glare in sunlight or show every scratch. That’s when the brushed finish took over. It wasn’t just a design choice - it was functional. The texture hides wear, reduces reflection, and gives a rugged look that still feels refined. Even today, a brushed case says utility and confidence, while polished screams luxury and attention. šŸ‘‰ Are you team Brushed (toughness) or Polished (presence)? Drop your watch pic below šŸ‘‡

WOTD - Friday 3 October.
I have fallen one day shy of the obligatory 3 day new watch wear. I have had no idea what day it has been over the past week after breaking my collarbone and being on Painkillers. My wife actually said to me ā€œDon’t have have a damn watch that can tell ultra the day Chad?ā€ Well I have 2 with a date function so grabbed the Islander Greenport. It’s a fun little watch with very good colours with Day and Date complication. Please forgive me my failure on the 3 days of new watch wearing.

What to wear tonight?
Going out to dinner tonight with family. Pretty casual- just a local Mexican place for a birthday. Haven’t decided what to wear. I know I want something with a black rubber strap. Will probably be wearing a T-shirt, shorts, sneakers, and a ball cap, so it’ll be pretty low key. What would you choose?
