Parenting a child who has experienced trauma can require us to look beyond behaviour. Behind the anger, withdrawal, meltdowns, anxiety, control or difficulty connecting, there may be a nervous system trying desperately to feel safe. And understanding that can change the way we parent. 💚The Skool Trauma Hub is for anyone who wants to develop a more trauma informed approach to supporting children. Inside our community, you can: • Learn more about trauma and the nervous system • Explore what might be happening underneath behaviour • Develop practical trauma informed parenting approaches • Connect with parents who understand some of the challenges • Access courses, discussions and live events • Learn alongside people with lived experience and trauma professionals • Find support without judgement or expectations of perfect parenting I’m a trauma psychotherapist, but I’m also a proud adoptive father and trauma informed parent myself. Professional knowledge has helped me enormously, but parenting has also taught me things no textbook ever could. Sometimes the question isn’t: “How do I stop this behaviour?” It’s: “What might my child be communicating, and what do they need from me right now?” If you want to explore parenting through a more compassionate, curious and trauma informed lens, I’d love to welcome you to The Skool Trauma Hub.
