Today I had the pleasure of co-facilitating an equine-assisted session for a group of Social Entrepreneurs 😍 Not one of them had any idea what they’d signed up for, but they came because they trusted the person who organised the session. As it happens, the person who organised the session told us last week that she is terrified of animals 😳 We assured her that she would only need to get as close as she felt comfortable, and could stay outside the fence if she neededto 🐴 Before long she had forgotten that she was afraid and participated fully - inside the arena 🤣 So today we saw courage, connection and leadership in action. We also saw know, like and trust because that’s what brought the group to the session. They named the horses Energy, Focus, Support, and Strategy - essential elements of a social enterprise in their view - and worked together to bring them to goal they had built. There was a lot of laughter and ‘aha’ moments and everyone left with plenty of food for thought 😊 Equine-assisted work is a powerful and gentle way to get to the heart of an issue without conflict or confrontation. All that’s required is the willingness to turn up with an open mind and the courage to move beyond your comfort zone 😊 A bit like Skool really 🤣
