CONFESSION I Don’t Sit Down to “Write Content” 😮
So I was on a call with a client yesterday and she goes, “Mimi… how do you put so many good posts out there that actually get GOOD engagement?” And at first I was like oh… HELLO… tiny blush moment activated, why thank you very much, imaginary bow, nearly trips, recovers, plays it cool (ish)… BUT THEN… I was like ok, let me actually SHOW you, because this is not magic and it is DEFINITELY not me sat there thinking always “right then, time to WRITE CONTENT,” with my serious face on and a list of hooks. Meh. Nope. HERE’S THE TRUTH BIT. Some of my stuff is planned, yeah, there’s intention behind it and thought there. Strategic feels like the wrong word tbh, but you know what I mean, well I know what I mean, it’s not random stuff all the time. HOWEVER… a LOT of it comes from what’s already happening around me. Stuff I see, stuff people say, conversations, side comments, little moments that make my brain go WAIT… WHATTT… because honestly, it’s all already OUT THERE. HELLO. EYE BALLS EYEING 👀 SO LET ME SHOW YOU A REAL ONE. Someone new jumped into the Backroom, grateful AF which we love immediately, went through the onboarding which is very personal, very human, very “hi this is not a robot speaking to you” vibes. They landed on the Start Here post and shared where they were moving to. AND MY BRAIN WENT… AHHH… HELLO… PING 💡 Because this is my thing. EVERYONE gives you something. Always. It’s all in the conversations, always has been. WHEN THEY SAID WHERE THEY WERE MOVING TO, my brain instantly went, “ohhhh… I wonder where everyone ELSE in here is actually from?” Now then I COULD have totes just put out a normal post like “Where in the world are you from?” but honestly… meh. We’ve all seen that post. Scroll, drop a flag emoji, disappear. POOF SO I ADDED A TWIST (OBVS) (we like to do thing different in da BACKROOM←🚪) Anyways, same question, different energy. I said tell us where you are WITHOUT telling us where you are. Use clues, words, weather, food, vibes, random hints, whatever you want. We guess, we’re getting warmer, colder, nearer, but you are NOT allowed to reveal it until tomorrow because rules are rules, DUH.

Yes to that! It’s about having conversations. I’ve learned this very early on…treat your online networking like your IRL networking. Plus Gif’s 🤣

Sod's law?
why is it that no-one calls you until you go on a zoom session and then EVERYONE does! if you don't know what Sod's law means- Sod's law, a British culture axiom, states that "if something can go wrong, it will".

I always like this phrase . Alongside with the word 'splendid' 🤣
Has Anyone Built a Bilingual (or Multilingual) Classroom?
I’m considering adding Vietnamese translations alongside English in each classroom module, as this community is centred on living in Vietnam and I’d like to actively involve bilingual Vietnamese contributors to help answer questions and add local context. Before I move too far down that path, I’d love to hear from others: Has anyone here successfully built a classroom or course in two (or more) languages? If so, what worked well — and what would you do differently? I’m especially interested in how you handled structure, pacing, and community engagement without overwhelming members. Appreciate any insights or lessons learned.

Interesting question. I have thought about this too and looking forward to read what others can contribute to this.
