Hello! I'd like to know what kind of community you have and how you handle members self promoting. My community is focused on a specific niche of helping content creators get onto streaming TV and I can foresee building affiliate relationships with other school owners who teach about topics that my members need. I don't want to come across as a stickler and not having people share their community, and shut down engagement, and don't want it to become spammy either. Would love any feedback and to know what you do. Hopefully this will help us all.

You've heard to storry about the dog sleeping on the nail right? His owner is sitting with a friend and asks "Why does your dog keep sleeping on the nail? Why doesn't he move? " to which the dog's owner replies "It doesn't hurt enough". Sometimes we don't see the nail. Sometimes it's easier to ignore it. Have you ever woken up with a to do list as long as your arm? A veritable laundry list of content creation, client calls, sytems, emails... on and on. And you walk into the kitchen, grab yourself a cup of coffee, say good morning to your spouse and shuffle into your office. Like two ships that pass in the night. No connnection, no conversation. And later, when you come out for dinner, the air is heavy with tension, there's no warmth, no conversation or laughter. Household maintenance tasks are the extent of stimulating interaction. Maybe you don't notice, or maybe you do, but think "I'll worry about that later, I have an empire to build." And slowly the friction builds. Arguing a little more, detaching a little more. Feeling more like roommates than lovers. This is what happens when attention is focused on business while neglecting the relationship. Like sucking all of the oxygen out of the room, the relationship can't thrive without being nurtured. It can't grow without being fed. You might not notice it, but it just adds a little more stress to your world while removing something valuable. Tension or friction doesn't improve anything. Love and support does. Where are you?
