Week 3: Boundaries, Allyship, and Use of Self
We are now moving into Week 3: Boundaries, Allyship, and Use of Self, of the Branches & Leaves-The Reflective Tree challenge. For this week, I want us to stay with the same kind of reflection, but shift the focus toward how we relate and respond in real time with others. Take a moment from your practice and think about how that may have been present. • How did you decide when to step in or step back? • How were you holding or sharing space in that moment? • How might your presence have shaped the interaction for the other person? Notice what felt natural, what felt difficult, and what influenced those choices. We’ll come together on Friday next week for a live chat.

Week 2 - Power & Positioning (Branches & Leaves: The Reflective Tree Challenge)
Hi everyone, We are now moving into week 2: Power and positioning For this week, I want us to stay with the same kind of reflection, but shift the focus toward power and positioning. Take a moment from your practice and think about how that may have been present. What power were you holding in that space, whether it felt explicit or more subtle? How might your role or authority have shaped the interaction? How do you think you may have been experienced by the other person? Notice where things felt within your control, and where they didn’t. (See details on the linked page) We’ll come together on Friday to explore this further.

Week 2 - Power & Positioning (Branches & Leaves: The Reflective Tree Challenge)
Branches & Leaves: The Reflective Tree Challenge
Hi everyone, I’ve been thinking about how we approach reflection in practice. Often, it stays focused on what happened and what we did. Which is important. But it doesn’t always create space to look at what’s shaping those responses. I want to introduce a simple way of working through reflection using a tree. Each part of the tree can help you notice a different layer of your practice, what you bring in, the decisions you make, the directions you take, and the impact that comes out of it. We’ll move through this as a 4-week reflection challenge. Our week will start on Monday and will end on Friday. We’ll have one live session every Friday. That will be a chance to pause together, explore the week’s focus, share insights if you want, and think about what comes next. Each week will have a specific focus: - Week 1 — What you bring into the moment: Exploring assumptions, experiences, and values that shape how you respond. - Week 2 Power and positioning: Looking at the role of power, authority, and how your presence shapes interactions. - Week 3 — Boundaries, allyship, and use of self: Reflecting on where you step in, where you step back, and how you show up in relation to others. - Week 4 — Impact, accountability, and patterns: Considering outcomes, patterns over time, and what learning can be carried forward. See classroom for more detaila Our Week 1 challenge starts today, check out the next post🙂

Week 1 of Branches & Leaves: The Reflective Tree Challenge
Week 1: What you bring into the moment For this week, let us spend some time with what we bring into our practice. I invite you to take a moment from your week and sit with it. Ask yourself: - What felt immediate or “obvious” to you in that interaction? - What were you noticing, and what might have been outside your awareness? - What experiences or beliefs may have been shaping how you interpreted what was happening? It’s easy to experience our responses as instinctive. With a bit more time, it becomes clearer how much sits underneath them.
