Crystal Bowl Mastery Pilot Week 2 prompts assignment
• Biggest Takeaway #1: This was a wonderful class with much rich information on the overall process that goes on in the practitioner’s mind and everything from having a reliable and well practiced set up to having a set list of an actual prepared formula on which pitches to work around. I also learned a lot of practical advice from the experienced practitioners. • Biggest Takeaway #2: This practice involves a lot of scientific information which we would benefit knowing as well as technical knowledge of some musical components to incorporate with also proficiency playing the instruments which we must learn to be very refined. Once we have all that in place we must be intuitively attuned to self at which point the facts are no longer absolute so we need to trust at every moment. Therefore we need a lots of practice and inquiry to build up our experience. • Harmonic Grid (bowl setup) Feeling So Far: I am new to this and would like to build a solid foundation and build up my abilities slowly and systematically. Being late in the programme, I just started with one bowl and will stay with it for roughly a week and learn all I can about the sounds, the mannerisms I need to get these sounds whether slow or fast and the distance of the mallet to the bowl, different areas of the bowl, using right hand, then left hand, clockwise, counterclockwise etc. Once this is solidified I will move onto 2 bowls for the 2nd week, then the 3 bowl triads for the third week etc. After I get to 5-6 bowls, I will start to experiment with the bowl set-ups. However being a pianist I am used to having the lowest pitch on the left side and I have no problem seeing the triads, but I may have issues with the distance of the bowls form each other so I will try and see what works best. • What it’s like practicing with your Harmonic Grid and Set List: I have not yet gotten to that but I like the idea of having a tonal set list as a larger overview and I think it would be a game changer in making the entire session flow much better with a preconceived plan and a direction.
🎼 Video Practice Set Lists with Chord Progressions
Kalee, I was working with your “5-min Practice Video” set list, and wow! Playing along with the video and being able to see the notes you added on the screen really elevated my understanding. Thank you so much for taking the time to modify these videos by including the notes and chords of the bowls you’re playing — that was incredibly helpful. By the way, I was able to play both the “10-min Video Set List – Chords” and “Practice Video – More Chords (20m)”on YouTube (the links took me directly there). Is there also a YouTube link available for the “5-min Practice Video”?

Takeaway #1: Sound & frequencies are far more powerful than we were informed. It is a huge responsibility for the person who is playing these sounds to be in a highly cultivated state regarding their inner self and awareness before stepping onto the platform so it is highly important to have a daily regime and to spend many hours with this background work just as dancers and athletes stretch and musicians do their repetitive technique. This level of attainment is currently underrated in today’s world of the rising profession of sound healers. Takeaway #2: I realized from listening to the 10 minutes sessions that I am able to reach a much deeper level of trance with fewer bowls played around the rim steadily than with tapping many bowls. Is this important: Undoubtedly this is imperative information for anyone interested in pursuing this healing art form because of the inherent nature of sound being an amplifier of the energetic state that is projected from the practitioner, who needs to be fully aware so as not to amplify and strew about anything of negative or lower frequencies. What would I like to learn more: When you played for 1-2 minutes of the sound of “Peace”, you had also mentioned other states of being such as: Love, Gratitude, Clarity, Grounding. I would love to spend more time during our class with you playing 1-2 minutes for each of these states and others that we can contribute such as Balance, Coherence, Centered, Openness, etc. to initiate us into these. After I would love to give a chance for us to share how we felt or what we experienced with each one. Hearing everyone else experience would help me a lot as I learn to differentiate these subtle states. Also if you might maybe discuss whether you use a specific pitch bowl for each state or if you can get the various different states from the same bowl and how.
Week 2 Reflection
1️⃣ Biggest Takeaway: Structure supports Freedom! Once the mechanics are in place, we reduce mental efforts and form our muscle memory. This allows us *to be free from thinking *to be more into Feelings and Intuition *to focus on the highest and best frequencies needed in the moments *to be led to a more blissful experience (for ourselves and for clients) I find that the muscle memories are super helpful because there are times my arms just move naturally from one bowl to another. I caught myself questioning “is this the right bowl?” While sustaining that bowl, I mentally traced back the previous bowl and fingers counted, and came to the conclusion “it is the right one!” 😮‍💨 🤪 Such a relief 😅 I just tell myself “Calm down. Trust it!” 😂 2️⃣ How does my Harmonic Grid feel so far? I feel like I’m cheating ạ little on this question. Because I took full course, the 90 day program with Kalee less than a year ago, and I had a lot of practice the last six months by myself, on my family members, also eight 1:1 sessions along sixteen public group sound journeys. I finally found out that my dominant hand and my bowls size are opposite to Kalee’s😅 (Her C bowl is much bigger than mine, the matter of fact, my C is really small 8 inches) I’m in a process of slowly changing and adjusting my harmonic grid. I constantly take photos of newer setup and its notes. Eventually I’ll find the best setups for myself 😁 3️⃣ What is it like practicing with my harmonic grid and set list? I’m memorizing my set list and let it flow as planned. I also allow my intuition take its lead on whatever bowls it called me to play without resisting, yet keeping it in the pleasant interval or chord. I just took a mental note of those occasions and usually got the answers from my clients at the end of the session. They are the ones providing the explanation for me without me asking. Amazed me quite a few times! A lot actually. I ended up learn more from my clients.
