Looking Forward to Scafell Pike This Saturday
This Saturday we're taking on Scafell Pike for When ONE Falls. I'm really looking forward to it. Not just for the climb, but for what the day represents. Scafell Pike is going to be a challenge, but that's the point. It's about showing up, backing each other, and taking on something meaningful together. Every step is a reminder that people don't have to carry things alone. For me, this is more than just getting to the top of a mountain. It's about community, purpose, and standing with people for a cause that matters. Looking forward to Saturday. Let's get up there together.
It’s Saturday.
Some of you will be out socialising. Some of you will be raving. Some of you will be watching the football with a few beers. Some of you will be resting, resetting, or just doing absolutely nothing. And honestly? That’s life. A balanced life is not about being perfect every single day. It’s about knowing when to enjoy yourself, but also knowing when to turn back up for yourself. So if today is a day where you let your hair down, enjoy it. But tomorrow, counteract it. Get outside.Move your body.Drink water.Eat properly.Breathe.Stretch.Go for a walk.Do something that brings you back to yourself. Balance is not punishment. Balance is self-respect. You don’t need to live like a monk to be healthy, and you don’t need to destroy yourself every weekend to have fun. The goal is simple: Enjoy life, but don’t abandon yourself in the process. Balanced life = happy life.
Hey everyone
To the whole Speak community, thank you. 💚 I just wanted to take a moment to thank every single one of you for being part of my journey. Towards the end of 2022, my life changed forever when I lost my sister at just 45 years old due to mental health struggles. Losing her left a hole in my heart that will never truly be filled. The grief, pain and questions that followed were some of the hardest moments I've ever faced. For a long time, I felt lost. But through sharing my story, connecting with others, and finding communities like Speak, I began to realise that healing doesn't mean forgetting. It means learning to carry the love, memories and lessons forward. On January 1st, 2026, I started running. Something I never imagined would become such an important part of my life. Twenty weeks later, I've run 278 miles and continue to run 45 miles every month in my sister's honour. Every mile is for her, for those we've lost, and for those who are still fighting battles that nobody else can see. I'm also training for the Great South Run and raising money for Solent Mind, with a goal of £500, because I want to help create hope for others who may be struggling. To everyone in this community who has supported me, encouraged me, shared their own stories, liked a post, left a comment, or simply listened thank you. You may never realise how much your kindness means. In my darkest moments, communities like this reminded me that none of us have to walk through life alone. If my sister's story, my running journey, or anything I've shared has helped even one person hold on for another day, then every mile has been worth it. Thank you for being part of this journey with me. Thank you for helping me turn pain into purpose. And thank you for reminding me, every day, that hope is still alive. Please stay. Keep going. Your story matters. 💚Craig 💚🏃‍♂️
Hump Day Thought: You Are Not Your Label
This morning I’ve been reading about diagnosis, and it really hit me. A diagnosis can be helpful. It can give people language, understanding, support and direction. But here’s the danger… Sometimes we start becoming the label. “I am anxious.”“I am depressed.”“I have ADHD.”“I’m broken.”“This is just who I am.” No. You are not your diagnosis you are not your darkest thought you are not the worst chapter of your life. A label might explain part of what you’re experiencing, but it should never become your identity. You are still a person with potential, purpose, strength, humour, love, pain, dreams and a future. So today, on hump day, remember this: Use the label if it helps you understand yourself. But don’t let it become a cage. Keep going. Keep speaking. Keep building yourself back up. One step at a time. Big love,Alfie
Good Morning SPEAK ☀️
A new day is another opportunity to move forward. Not every step has to be massive. Not every day has to be perfect. Sometimes success is simply:✅ Getting out of bed✅ Going for that walk✅ Turning up to work✅ Going to the gym✅ Checking in with a mate✅ Asking for help when you need it Progress isn’t built in one day. It’s built by showing up consistently, even when you don’t feel like it. Whatever you’re facing this week, keep moving forward. One step at a time. Drop a comment below and let us know one thing you’re aiming to achieve today. 👇 You’ve got this. #SPEAK#MentalHealthMatters#ConstructionCommunity#KeepGoing
