The thoughts in my head
Not every thought you think deserves to become a belief.
Think about some of the things you say to yourself:
“I can't do that.”
“I'm not good enough.”
“People like me don't succeed.”
“It's too late for me.”
“I'm just not that kind of person.”
But here's something worth remembering:
A thought can be familiar without being true.
Sometimes the beliefs controlling our lives are simply beliefs we've repeated for so long that we've stopped questioning them.
Awareness gives us the opportunity to ask:
“Where did I learn this?”
And:
“Is this belief helping me become who I want to be?”
You don't have to believe every thought that enters your mind.
What's one belief about yourself that you are beginning to question?
