Have you ever been so sure about something... until you weren't? 😂 I've been thinking about how many ideas Todd and I had when we first started building Skoolology. Things we thought would work. Things we thought people would want. Things we were pretty sure we had figured out. Then we started actually building alongside people. Listening. Trying things. Watching what happened. Occasionally scratching our heads and wondering what we'd missed! Somewhere along the way, I changed my mind about something. Early on, we spent a lot of time thinking about what we needed to provide for our members. The right content, activities, resources, and experiences. Those things still matter, of course. But I started noticing that some of the most meaningful moments weren't things we'd planned at all. They were the conversations that happened because someone felt comfortable enough to ask a question. Or share something that wasn't working. Or tell another builder what they had tried Sometimes those conversations kept going without Todd or me anywhere in the middle. That made me more curious about what we were designing. Maybe we'd been spending so much time thinking about what we needed to give people that we hadn't fully appreciated what they could give each other. I still think about this quite a bit. It changes some of the questions I ask myself about what we're building. I suspect there will be plenty more things I'll change my mind about before we're through! 😂 So I'm wondering... You know those friends you haven't seen in ages, but when you finally get together, it's like no time has passed at all? I've been thinking about that lately. ❤️ I have friends I've known for years, and we always say, "We really need to get together!" But then life gets busy, the weeks turn into months, and somehow we still haven't made it happen. So lately, I've been making more of an effort to actually DO it! 😂 I recently had lunch with two longtime friends, and we had such a good time! And yes, that's us in the picture! Well...sort of! 🤣 I couldn't resist letting AI give us a little glamorous makeover. Those glasses! Those outfits! 😂✨ But the smiles? Those are the real deal. ❤️ It reminded me how good it feels to just sit together, laugh, catch up, and enjoy each other's company. And I found myself wondering why we wait so long to do it! So here's my Sunday question for you... ☕ Is there someone you've been meaning to reconnect with? Or maybe something you've been saying you want to make time for but keep putting off? No long post from me today. Just a little Sunday conversation. ☕🐼 I've been thinking about how different we all are here in Skoolology. Different backgrounds, different experiences, different communities we're building. And yet, the more I get to know you, the more I notice how much we have in common. Sometimes it's the challenges we're working through. Sometimes it's what matters most to us. And sometimes it's something that has absolutely nothing to do with building a community. I’ve been thinking about gratitude today. Building a community can sometimes feel like something we’re doing on our own. Our community. Our decisions. Our ideas. Our worries about whether any of it is actually working. 😅 But when I stop and think about it, none of us really builds alone. There are people who ask a question that makes us think differently. People who share something they’ve learned. People who encourage us when we need it. People who celebrate a little win with us. And people who simply keep showing up. ❤️ I’m especially grateful today for the way people show up for one another here. I see questions answered, ideas shared, encouragement offered, and people taking the time to really listen to each other. Those things matter. And it has me thinking about all the people, in all the different corners of our lives, who become part of what we’re building. A friend. A member. A mentor. A spouse. Someone in another community. Maybe even someone who has no idea they’ve influenced us at all. Who are you feeling especially grateful for in your building journey today? Some weeks give us answers. Others leave us with something quieter. A sentence someone said. A question we’re still thinking about. Something we tried. Something we noticed about ourselves.
