Double check your component connector!
Gents… I’ll be honest, I’m sure plenty of others have done this too Volvo XC70 in with front and rear screenwash inoperative. One of our techs unplugged the washer pump connector ready for me to test powers and grounds. No activation to the pump, so I pulled wiring diagrams from Alldata and checked the BCM connector locations. According to the diagram, with the circuit inactive both pins at the washer pump should have a ground path. Tested it… one wire had no earth path. “Perfect” — wiring fault confirmed. Glovebox out, BCM accessed, checked the same two wires directly at the BCM… both grounds present there 🤔 At this point I’m thinking:“If there’s a break or corrosion, it’ll be under the bonnet or around the wheel arch.” So off comes the inner arch… Found the issue straight away. The tech had unplugged the washer LEVEL sensor… not the washer pump 😂 Power and Ground present Faulty washer pump all along. Moral of the story:Before reaching for the wiring diagrams… make sure you’re testing the right component first and never trust other techs working with you 😅

Module repairs
When you can repair a module in house do you charge for the time taken or the amount a repair company would charge plus a little extra for convenience?? Or do you tell the customer you have sent for repair and do in house anyway😂

Nice little vid
This was not my video but thought it was a great way to show if a relay does not have a diode or even a resistor the volts that is held in the coil when power is removed does have to go somewhere but with a diode it returns back to the coil and not to something external.
