Merry Christmas, everyone. Every year, my wife loves to make custom Christmas morning shirts with a phrase that encapsulates a main theme for the wearer during the last year. She nailed mine, as always.

I love the 12 days of Christmas. On this first day of the twelve I love how people can relax and begin the celebration of the season without the commercial pressure. Arguably the single most versatile jacket a man can have in his wardrobe is a classic navy blazer. It can be dressed up with a tie and dress shirt, nearly on par in terms of formality with the classic lounge suit or business suit that we know today, or dressed down with a chambray or corduroy work shirt and jeans -- and layered with everything in between from sweaters to vests and even polos. This makes the blazer work all four seasons, no matter where one resides. As a classic timeless piece, it also functions very well as a sort of blank canvas to which regional, cultural, and personal background accessories can be added to suit the wearer's individual style and taste. This extreme versatility of function is what makes a blazer so valuable to own, especially over time. I recently purchased a royal blue blazer on eBay, along with a pair of Allen Edmonds tassel loafers in oxblood, as unofficial Christmas presents to myself. I had these saved in my watch list for a while, and decided to pull the trigger. I'm excited to further explore the versatility of the blazer with a royal blue color option in addition to my dark navy blazer from Ralph Lauren.
