So I've been telling myself I wanted to get a pair of Red Wing Iron Rangers for a little while, and this week I finally decided to do something about it. I had decided on a specific color, that turned out to be a limited run and mostly sold out nationally. As luck would have it, the nearest Red Wing store to me (about 35 minutes away) had a pair that could be my size (I'm a 13 in sneakers, 12.5 in most Thursdays, they only had a pair in 12 but Iron Rangers are supposed to be big).

I went to the store this morning and they started off by scanning my feet... For Iron Rangers they have me at an 11.5, so we decided to try the 12. Fit was great, roomy but not flopping around, so I'm totally psyched. The salesman then asks me what price I had seen this pair online for, now I'm getting scared... Something like $350? Turns out they were actually listed for $370. The salesman says "Nah, they're on clearance." I'm thinking great, maybe I save 30, 40, 50 bucks... How much are they???

TWO HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS!!!!!

So I now have a brand new pair of Alpine Portage Iron Rangers... For $120 less than I had walked in expecting to pay...
