No! Mr (too short coats w high buttons)-I expect you to DIE!!!
Probably the first non-cartoon movie I remember seeing as a child was a bond film ( you only live twice). Of all the Bond films the Quintessential movie hands down has to be Gold Finger. From Odd Job, to the gold painted victim, to the DB 5-to the ribald retort. -“I must be dreaming”😉-this bond created the blockbuster movie concept.
While this video shows that fact, it reveals another that is helpful. In 1963 and 1964 lapels had become extremely thin (much like today). With a wider lapel it’s easier to have a PROPERLY waist level operable button as the lapel will roll more. Nevertheless from Connery to the portly GoldFinger character (Karl Gerhart Fröbe). ALL THE COATS HIT AT THE WAIST AND COVERED THERE BACKSIDE. A thinner lapel will slightly pull that up but not to the silhouette ruination that is the modern fit. Oh well. I feel better. It’s a great video to watch about this my favorite Bond Movie. The one that sealed Bonds long term success. A franchise that has endured for nearly 65 years.
